I actually have all four books in the poll, which is rare. I was leaning towards Dead in the West, but I didn't realize group members would have books up. I'm going to end up reading all four of these eventually,as in the next few months, so I may abstain from voting and just go with the group.
Is the Nathaniel Caine book available in paperback, as well as ebook format? Due to an eye condition, I can't read ebooks, so I'd have to sit that one out. Can we talk, as a group, about only nominating books that are available in both formats as group reads?
I will definitely start verifying that. Don't want to exclude anyone. Unfortunately, it ddoesn't look like it has a paperback. You might ask Eric about that, since he posts around here. I'll start an official topic on the subject of multiple formats tomorrow though.
Also, for the record, I don't dislike ebooks, I just prefer paperbacks. Hell, i'm more likely to wait for a paperback release over hardcover, unless the cover is super swanky. Like a leatherbound.

West of Dead is currently e-book only. That's a pricing issue more than anything. The book is a short novel/long novella, so to make money on print versions I would have had to charge more than I myself would probably pay for a 120 page novel. Possible plus side on length: it's a quick enough read that it could go with another quick read like Lansdale's.P.S. Just to put my promoting hat on...the second Nathaniel Caine story is a full length novel and is available in print on Amazon. No zombies in that one though.
I echoed Eric in the other thread, in that several of the Weird West books are fairly short, so if nothing else we could do two shorter books in one month. My two Brackett books are both under 200 pages as well, and I know most of Lansdale's books arent very lengthy either.
Given that, I may just set up group reads the way Seth does in the Sword & Sorcery group. Two month stretches with two books.
That's not a bad idea for format, Ashe. It might get a little more discussion going if folks don't feel rushed. I'm not quite done with Six-Gun Tarot. I know February is a short month, but I still feel like I'm in the seventh grade and my book report is due tomorrow.

Yes, actually. I figure we can do the two top books for March & April. That should cover the bases for now. I'll set everything up and send out another mass message on Saturday.
