Finished chapter 7:

(view spoiler)[ ok, so this is an interesting book so far. definitely not my fave, but not the worst. It has a good plot and there's suspense; I can't read everything that will happen. I know eventually the Winterians will be freed but I have no idea how. I also think Meira is a little annoying but it fits because she's a teenager. She's definitely relatable with her attraction to a guy friend she's known all her life and her craving for belonging, acceptance, and approval.
Mather is really guarded so I can't read him well. Pun not intended, haha! But honestly that's how a lot of guys are to me so that's probably a good thing; he's believable. Sir as well. It did strike me that Sir did not let Meira call him Father. Maybe there's something about her parentage that she doesn't know about? Or maybe he just wants a kid of his own so he has to draw boundaries?
It stinks that the scouts followed Meira back to camp, but it's not a surprise since they let her out unscathed, and she only has one half of the locket. The other half I'm assuming will be impossible to find. (hide spoiler)]

That's why it's called a spoiler! Haha jk. Some people write like one line and it's not really a spoiler. They could have just plain commented. I read it yesterday so I guess I had a lot of thoughts built up!

Finished chapter 13:

(view spoiler)[ wow, so much has happened in the past few chapters! I did not see the arranged marriage coming. And I know Meira has something to do with Hanna but I have no idea what yet. Theron is cool so far. I'm definitely a fan. No idea who she'll end up with. Honestly in my opinion they're both good choices. I definitely hate Noam and I wish there was something they could about having him help but not get the magic/chasm he's looking for in the seasons resources. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I like the whole idea that there's 8 different places, and 4 of them are male-dominant and the other female. It's such a cool idea! Puts heaps of pressure on Mather though.

And yeah I'm a fan of Theron too :) Could be one of my favourite male character. I'm glad that Meira isn't treating him like crap because she knows he's in the same position as her. And I like how she's got an attraction towards him.

I really liked it when (view spoiler)[they led her to the cave under the prison, and they discovered all of those writings on the wall. That was so awesome! (hide spoiler)]

I can't believe how sneaky she is, and how oblivious the guards were, when (view spoiler)[she knocked down those poles when they were working. It must have taken ages! And the way that little boy took the beating just to try and give her some water. So amazing! (hide spoiler)]

Icicles Like Kindling is #0.1, so I'd like to read that one before I read Ice Like Fire (#2).

Well, I'm about 46% of the way done with Snow Like Ashes. I had this terrible reading block. Is the next book out yet? When I'm done with this book, I instantly try to find the next one.

Quick Question: You know when Mather hurts Theron during sparing when Meira first goes to the soldiers training camp. How did Mather hurt Theron?
