I have not read "Jane Eyre" before but from your description of the author it sounds like it could definitely be a good read! I am always looking forward to discovering new authors.
I've been reading the book "How to Stop Time" (Matt Haig), so far it has been a really pleasant read. I feel like with everything I've read so far in this book, I've been sucked back into time, his descriptions of the settings and the history of the settings are very interesting. I feel an emotional pull with the main character and his condition. I am on page 122.
Hope that you have a great week. Enjoy your book.
Best,
Rayne T.
Hi Rayne,
I love time travel books. Every time I read one, I always wonder "would I"? I don't like to think about regrets, but I reflect and think, would I time travel to change things if given the opportunity? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I really believe that we all play a part in life, history etc. I can't wait to hear what you think of the book.
I think I am going to read a few gothic books for Fall and thought I would start with re-reading "Jane Eyre" the movie versions are great and worth watching.
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
-Donna

I am still reading This Time Tomorrow... lol.
I actually just moved so for the past 3 weeks to a month, 90% of my free time has been packing boxes, moving, unpacking boxes, buying new furniture, putting together said furniture, etc. I don't think I've read a single page of a book in like a month!! So my fall book selection is the same as the last book selection haha
Hi Colton,
I am glad you are reading, "This Time Tomorrow" remember, there is no pressure to finish quickly. Let us know what you think when you finish the book. Thanks for sharing what your Fall book is!
Congratulations, which I hope is a good move for you. Moving is not an easy task.
Don't forget to recommend any new T.V. and new movies!
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna

My favorite movie so far this year has been “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. It’s definitely weird, but I have never seen anything like it and it was so good!
As far as TV, I recently just finished Better Call Saul’s final season and it was superb.
I also watched Severance on AppleTV+ and that was also really good.
How about you?
Hi Colton,
I have finally watched Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" and I thought it was very good. His movies are always very different and have a unique, visual theme attached. The soundtrack was great. It was interesting seeing the perspective from Col. Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). I would not be surprised if Austin Butler is nominated for the Academy for his portrayal of Elvis Presley. He is that good.
Still a fan of "Stranger Things" loved the latest season with Jaime Campbell Bower. He was outstanding. The music as always is great. Bringing back many 80s memories.
I have many on my list to watch!
Have a good weekend.

I've finished the book: "How To Stop Time" by Matt Haig. I loved it so much! I've rated it 5 stars on my Good Reads account because it has gone above and beyond for me. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did and I love whenever I find books like that!
First off, it was very interesting from the first chapter. I do like the use of storytelling and from the description of jumping to the past and present. I was super connected to the main character, Tom, as he narrated the story. I thought the whole plot was so interesting and pulled me in! I really love Matt Haig's writing style, I've read his book: The Midnight Library which started my love and appreciation for this author.
In "How To Stop Time" I enjoyed reading about Tom's experience living in the past and experiencing some key elements in history. This was one of my favorite parts of the book. I felt like I was right there back in time with him! This book made me smile, laugh, made me feel sad, butall in all, I've discovered my new favorite book!!
Hi,
I am so happy you enjoyed the book. I agree, I love Matt Haig's book. A unique writing style. I always enjoy when history is included in the story. Then of course, I feel inspired to do some more research and reading about that history moment. History connects us all.
I'm hoping for a sequel to this book and find out more about Tom's life and his future. In the meanwhile, I am very excited for the upcoming movie version. The holidays are coming up and I think I will have to re-read "A Boy Called Christmas."
Thanks for sharing and let us know what you are reading next!
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna

Hi Deborah,
I love the Outlander book series and the movie versions. You are right there are some difficult things to read and view in certain moments. Although I think the movie version has tried to make great effort to make sure the complex moments go with the storyline as much as possible. I'm a time-travel fan and immediately loved the time journey of Claire and Jaime. I'll be cheering for them until the every end.
I did not know about D.G. being a singer in a band. That is so interesting.
Thank you for sharing that.
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
Donna

Our next book club selection is your choice. What are you reading? I have decided to start by re-reading "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte. One of my favorite books. If you have read this book, let me know your thoughts about it.
I always felt a fondness for the character of Jane Eyre, who had the unfortunate luck of having to be raised by her cruel aunt, Mrs. Reed. She is treated cruelly and sent away to Lowood School to continue to be treated with abuse and little kindness. Years pass, challenges happen and circumstances lead her to eventually make her living as a governess and meets the mysterious Mr. Rochester. Her future is never the same.
I am ready to be re-introduced to these characters and cheer for Jane all over again and hope she finds the love and happiness she deserves.
Please share what you are reading this Fall.
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna
