If English is not your first language but you read books in English do you annotate in your native language or English?

english generally but sometimes my native language's idioms or what not get the point better across lmao
in english but if i read Indonesian book, i annotate in english and indo. never annotate in my native language tho idk why

in English, I don’t know why when I’m reading in English my brain only thinks in English and when I’m reading in Portuguese I only think in Portuguese
