Bec | 1337 comments I found voting for this one tricky....and ended up upvoting ones I originally put as downvotes due to checking out the listopias (journalist for example, it just screamed no to me, but when I checked the list there were 2 books on my TBR, and given I'm trying to get down my TBR not add to it I figured it was a good chance to read one of those). I'm okay if I only have 1 or 2 books for a prompt as it will force me to read that particular book.
I ended up upvoting 5 and downvoting 3.

I'm the same way. I've been meaning to read Empire of Pain for ages. There are many other journalism books that I like, but that's the one people I trust are telling me to read.

The word battle screamed no to me, but the prompt has a lot of great potential. I don't like battle scenes per se, but books set during war time tend to be very interesting. It could be other types of battles - competitions, someone battling addiction, friendships falling out, sibling rivalries, etc.

The Roaring twenties is my favorite. It has a lot of potential too because there were dramatic stories from all over the world during that time. I have books from Harlem, Chicago, Australia, and Paris to choose from.
