Fantasy Fiction with Native American theme about a middle-age woman going through a midlife crisis/self discovery process. I remember she ends up staying at a cabin near a forest and in her hikes discovers magical deer that appear as human children… Orphans… At a certain part of the woods. It opens her up to new parts of her self. I remember she likes to knit. There’s another woman that she interacts with in the story. I read this in late 1990s or early 2000s. It had a blue cover. I’m racking my brain for the title. I know it was a female author.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! I’ve searched on google to no avail.
