I've read The Virginian and liked it a lot. I want to read Butcher's Crossing, even though I was not thrilled by the author's Stoner.
Sandy, is that available in audio format somewhere? Have you read the author's autobiography--A Son of the Middle Border? I'd like to.
Sandy, I will talk to my vision+computer help person and see if Voice Dream is available to me. I am also going to check out the books you have mentioned. THANK YOU!

Updated!
Updated!
Kathy and Luis your votes are updated!
Do not forget you can make a suggestion just like Sandy did. It expands our knowledge of what is FWC and some reads and authors we have not heard of! :)

Thank you John! I have updated your choices.

I vote for Butcher’s Crossing also. I’ve read 2 of his books and enjoyed both. I suggested Rolvaag so does that mean my vote for Giants in the Earth was counted? If not, please add me for that one. Thanks.

Sandy these two might be better served under the Non-Fiction Suggestions for 2023 when Samantha gets them opened. I will send her a message to let her know you are interested. Thank you!

Blueberry what if we put it as a suggestion for Historical Fiction? I am not a 100% sure but I think it fits?
A four book series I think would need to be over a two month period as well.
Any thoughts anybody?

I read The Emigrants a few years ago and liked it. I have the second book Unto a Good Land that I'd like to read. They are definitely Historical Fiction.
Moberg's book is great. It is part of a series. Living myself in Sweden, I read it years ago, when it first came out. There was a great movie too.

Thank you Kathy! I will add that to our Historical Fiction genre for next year.

I was looking at FWC because of the descriptors pioneers, settlers, resilience, harsh beautiful landscape. But I'm interested wherever it goes. I'm ok reading just one of the series also.
Blueberry we didnt have a suggestion for Historical Fiction and it can be set up to read any or all books in the series! I can even expand the timeframe to more than a month. I decided this way it is a done deal in scheduled for next year!!
I am very supportive. I will be looking for purchasing them soon.

Yes I guess all of our reads are actually that way except for the Non-Fiction of course.
We did not for the longest time have a Non-Fiction Topic. It has been really successful.

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for your imput.
I think we have a great selection scheduled.

Thanks for all your work, Lesle. I will definitely be reading from the list. I might read them earlier though because it is hard to wait.
Appreciate the kind words Sandy and Chrissie.
"it is hard to wait." made me giggle Chrissie! Thank you :)

I have a doubt: imagine one thing: I'm in the middle of a Faulkner book; I couldn't finish this year. What will be the purpose? Should it count for the upcoming year's challenges of 2023? Thank you. Luís.

Happy to see your interest in Butcher's Crossing. It is one I have been meaning to read for a long time now.

I’m looking forward to reading all of these in 2023. I’m on a bit of a westerns kick. I never really read many until a year or so ago.

I will be reading The Shootist this month. Is anyone else going to read it?
Is there a thread where we will talk about it? If there is, please put a link here to the thread.
