Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊
I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.
Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.
PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 8, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉
Hi everyone! I don't know if you guys have done this challenge before but I did the last round of it in the spring and it was super fun. My name is Ariel and I am 27 years old. I read just about all types of romance but am particularly biases towards romantic suspense. Mystery and romance are my two favorite genres so that really makes sense. Lol As far as time zones, I live in the southern United States so I am in the eastern time zone. Since we do need a captain, I don't mind volunteering since I did do it for my team last time and it was all pretty simple.
Hi everyone. Is my first time doing this challenge. My name is Raluca I'm 32 years old living with my cat and my boyfriend (don't ask why I pun my cat first 😆). I'm from Europe, from Romania, knows for 'Vampires' 🧛♂️(no, there are not, ...maybe😁). My timezone will be sure different from you. I'm on Eastern European Summer Time (EEST), UTC +3. As for books I love any type of romance book, but only with a couple of 2 person😅 and happy end is what I'm waiting to find at the end of the book. I read all subgenres of romance especially if has a good plot. Recently I've discovered Cozy Mystery Books and i'm starting to like them. And I end this by saying that I apologize in advance for the grammar or punctuation mistakes 😅.
And I think wee need a name for the team🤔
Hi Raluca! Not to sound weird but I really love your name. What breed of cat do you have? I have two dogs, Katie (a redbone coonhound) and Polo (a very sassy Pomeranian). We do need a name - the cheesier and funner the better. LOL
Some ideas that I pulled from Google lists that I found fun:
1. The Bookworms (simple but classic)
2. Raging Readers
3. Bound to Books
4. Flashlight Readers
5. Books & Beyond
Hi Ariel (I also like your name, my fav fairytale is Little Mermaid). My cat is a European Short-hair. A Tuxedo colored Cat. (in my free time I'm her manager of her Insta, Facebook and Tiktok page 😂)From the 5 names I like
Raging Readers and The Bookworms
Howdy, everyone! =DMy name is Vanessa and I live in western Kentucky so I am in the US Central time zone. I am 39, married, and have four children plus a chiweenie. =)
My go-to genres are Romance (all sorts of subgenres but my faves are steamy romcoms, sports, paranormal, fantasy, college, bully/high school, single parent, enemies to lovers), Fantasy (just about everything), and some Science Fiction. I read a lot of paranormal romances, so anything with shifters, vampires, and the like. I like reading adult titles and young adult titles.
Here are a few more team names we could use:
Book Dragons
Rather Be Reading
Bookish Pandemonium
Read Hard Bookclub
Bibliomaniacs
Bookish Renegades
I think that my favroite names are Bookish Pandemonium, Bookish Renegades, Bibliomaniacs, or Ariel's suggestion of Raging Readers. I'm not that picky though. =P
I live in New York and love all genres of romance but I like to read anything and everything I can get my hands on. Lol I’m ok with letting Ariel be captain and Im good with any name you pick for the team. I did this challenge when it first started but lost track of the others since life took a bad turn for me. I’ve been MIA from GR and now just getting back (somewhat) to my usual obsession with books. :)

First Task - All Teams!0. Read a sports romance (MPG) or a book with a primarily green cover, teams decide which. No pass for this task.
With both college and pro football seasons starting, I’m sure I’m not the only one with sports on the brain! As a team, decide if you are a book with primarily green cover or a book with MPG Sports Romance. If selecting a sports romance, it can either be the generic Sports (alone or combined) or the specific sports such as football, baseball or hockey - but it MUST be MPG! If selecting books for the cover option, green must be the primary color you see on the cover to qualify. No pass for this task.
Sorry for not really being here the last couple days. It's been a long week - I am subbing in a middle school math class and it has wore me out everyday. LOL I hope I never have to hear the word slope ever again. Also, I think we should do the Book Dragons has our team name - it's fun and unique. I love it.
Also, I am also okay with both - if we decide on sports romance, I have tons of recommendations since I LOVE that genre. If we decide on green covers, I am also okay with that. What does everyone else think?
I am also okay with Book Dragons. =)I prefer sports romance since the next several books on my TBR fit that theme. But if everyone else prefers green cover then I can find something to work.
The nex 3 days I will be on a trip, on the mountains, and possibly the Internet to be slow, but I have a sport romance book to read with me

Review: Another friends to lover romance but it was a fun and cute story. I enjoyed their banter and that they were such good friends that they knew each other so well and knew what each other needed. I just can't see why they didn't get together sooner but I guess six years is a good timeline for them to really know each other and to also realize that they actually loved each other.

Review: What is this book made of? Boyfriend material. I kid you not, Pacey Lawes did a number on me in this impeccable story. I may not recover.
Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite authors because she has a writing style that is all her own. I love her mix of steamy and humorous and her storytelling brings a smile to my face every time. Her unique brand of storytelling is complimented by her knack for crafting the perfect plot. I am always on the edge of my seat just devouring her books by the page. While her stories are contemporary, they still have such vivid world-building that transplants the reader into the story effortlessly.
These characters blew my mind. This is the start of a new series and there were so many new characters to get to know. Once I had them down I was floored. These characters really were something. I adored each and every one of them. I seriously fell down a rabbit hole with this one because I was so invested in these characters. Winnie and Pacey were exemplary lead characters. I loved that they were so relatable. They each had their bright spots but they also had their flaws and that made them feel so real to me. Winnie was very cautious in the beginning but Pacey helps her open up and she really had some great character development. Pacey is intensely swoon-worthy. He melted my heart and my lady bits in this book. Seriously. I loved his personality most and how genuine his character was.
The romance in this book was outstanding. Hot. Organic. Spicy. So many things! Gah! I loved Pacey and Winnie as a couple. I loved them together way before they were ever a couple. Their chemistry was electric. Like a lightning bolt to the chest. I could feel their attraction for each other so intensely. What I loved about their relationship was how natural it was. They spent time together and shared moments together until feelings started to pop up. Their romance was a whirlwind romance and sparks flew early on but there was no feeling of instalove, which I appreciated.
Overall, this was another top-notch sports romance from Meghan Quinn! I was so invested and impressed with this story. I will be a champion for Quinn's books again and again. If you like your romcoms spicy, funny, and with characters that are so memorable and relatable then you'll want to pick this one up. I am so excited to read the next book in this series. Getting to know these secondary characters was a blast and I can't wait to get to know them better when the spotlight shifts to them.

Review: liked this book and I loved parts of it but I didn't love all of it. These types of reviews are so hard for me because it really comes down to a feeling more than anything. And it's hard to rate a feeling when it's smack dab in the middle of the spectrum.
I think the thing that created a little bit of disconnect for me with the story was the execution of the character development. There was certainly some very nice character growth in the book but it felt impersonal to me. I can't really put my finger on it but the characters just didn't stand out to me. The story does touch upon topics of grief and addiction and I think that those topics were handled gracefully.
Ava Wilder does a fine job of making the story compelling. Despite not feeling overly close to the characters, I still felt the drive to keep reading. I really and truly wanted to know what was going to happen next. The writing style was easy to read for the most part but there were times it felt a little clunky. The world-building felt so real, as though I were living in the story.
There were parts of the romance that I liked and parts that I didn't mesh with. I enjoyed the fake dating trope and I think that it was executed well. I also liked that Grey and Ethan developed feelings after spending time together and getting to know each other. Their chemistry wasn't entirely convincing to me in the love department but in the lust department, they were definitely convincing. It was obvious that they were attracted to each other the first time they met. It was almost an instalust situation. When their feelings developed though their chemistry felt different. It didn't feel realistic for two people in love.
Overall, this is a fun story with an addictive premise that fell a little short for me with character relatability. But don't let that stop you from picking this up because it was still an interesting read. I think that in this case, it is just a personal preference situation. I'd definitely try something else from this author.

Review:
As this is my introduction into Calamity Falls, it was a good dive into the town, into the characters presented before the readers. This is a small American town where it is obvious that family and loyalty run deep. We meet Seraphina and Declan and get to be able to read about their love story - which was sweet and a relatively quick read but with deep emotions of family dynamics, heartbreak, and feelings of abandonment, and ultimately, falling in love.
Without a doubt, my favorite storyline was Phinny coming to terms with her father's dead and realizing that he wasn't necessarily the villain in the story she had always been told - that he really did love her and wanted the best for her the entire time. Not to mention the ending after the angst and the declaration of love was one of the sweetest that I have read in a while.
