Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments I'm starting The Bombshell Effect (Washington Wolves, #1) by Karla Sorensen tonight. It's 238 pages so I'm hoping it will read quickly. We'll just keep reading until we hit that 6th book. :-)

Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments Hi ladies, I’m still reading. We had an extended family medical issue crop up that required some “rearranging of personnel resources” as my dad said. Everyone is okay. Just my week starting out with an unexpected spontaneous rearrangement of priorities that doesn’t equate to procrastination. I love my large family, however I really wish that more of them would use phones. Or pigeons. Just advance communication of large medical issues would be awesome. Or, semi regular communication between aging siblings to say “I’m alive currently. However, here is a list of things my drs say may kill me in the next two months” would be nice. 🙄🙄
Please don’t forget to call your loved ones this week ❤️

M | 659 comments Oh man, I'm sorry Maggie! Please focus on family. The challenge is just for fun.

Sorry I've been MIA. I started a second book have barely been able to read it. I had a bit of sore throat on Saturday night. Sunday the same plus congestion, body aches and low grade temp off and on. Took a covid test yesterday and it was positive. I dodged it for a long time and is my first time with it.

I'll keep reading.. it's just slower now since I'm trying to get lots of rest.

Carolyn | 118 comments Exactly what M said!! Maggie don't worry about the challenge for now and focus on your family.

Also no worries M!! Don't stress. I've got about 100 pages left in my book so between you and me one of us will get a book finished for this task :)

I haven't managed to get anything that fits read. I got a call to say my cat had been run over and died so I'm not having a great time right now. That's the third pet I've lost in 3 months.I will check back to see what the next task is and go from there, hopefully, I'll help with it.

Rating/Review: 5 Stars. OH MY GOSH!!!!! I absolutely loved this cute rom-com of a story!!! It was such a painstakingly slow burn, but had SO MUCH teasing/flirting between the main characters that I was constantly on the edge of my seat for when they'd finally get together!!! This was a great read and I would recommend to anyone looking for something very cute and fun with an amazing plot and some added spice.

Review: I've been looking forward to X and Clara's book for a long time. It's been sitting in my Kindle since publication day. It was a fun story. I was glad to FINALLY find out what had happened that turned their friendship so backwards. I liked the story of how they came back to each other. I wanted to smack X for ever thinking that Clara wouldn't be able to handle herself with the press and the media scrutiny in his world. She'd been with him and as his plus one since he made it through to the pros. She's already been through the gauntlet. She was more than likely put through it while he was dating Gulia. Then she was all over SF with Ben. I would have changed that part of the plot line for them as the reason to keep their change in relationship "secret" I'm really ready for Cam and Chevelle's story now. And can we EVER get to Rylan and Calista's story??

Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments HI ladies,
I'm sorry for going MIA.

M I hope you are feeling better. COVID has never been any fun and the first time around with it can be horrible. The cough and the fatigue seem to be the things that always linger the longest. I also hope that everyone else in the house was able to stay healthy. That's the second battle as well. Please rest and let your body recover and just do what you need to do.

I'm so sorry I wasn't able to check in this week. We've been regular sick and then one of my kiddos wound up needing to head to the ER and hang out overnight for observation. My son seemed to have recovered from the stomach flu, then we all caught some sort of super cold which lead to more stomach issues for the boy child or, gastroenteritis per the ER, which I guess is just the stomach flu on steroids?

Either way, I should have checked in and let you all know. I've been a crap captain. I'm so sorry.

Review I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book. Can't lie, that cover is what sold me. Blurb or not I was diving in. This was a quick read, but man it did not lack in the hotness department!

Vivian is newly broken up from her long-term relationship. She's a lawyer who is sassy and fierce. Doesn't need a man... well until the toys just aren't cutting it anymore. Needs the real thing. After overhearing a random elevator conversation, she enlists the help of a coworker to help her get some D. Thus the D appointment.

Dom was freaking HOT! That mouth! Could talk dirty, but damn he knew how to use it to. He was attentive to the pleasure he was bringing his partner and always got his, but she got it more!! His relationship with his younger brother was the best!

If you're in the mood for a quick, but super hot read, this is it!! There were a few triggering topics in the book. It wasn't all just Os and rainbows. Can't wait for book 2!

I've had COVID a few times now. The worst was the original time. Each time my energy and my lungs are the very last to recover. Keep babying yourself as much as you can. The first time I had COVID it took me a full month to get my energy levels back to "normal". It was like having the worst case of mono that had ever hit me with the flu and pneumonia on top of it.

Just do what you can!

message 183: by Maggie (new)

Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments For our task - I'll be finishing my book today. I started one not realizing the length of it. I also didn't realize "the cold" I thought I had is either the flu or COVID. I've been down with illness for a few days. As long as I continue to test negative for COVID my dr agreed to see me tomorrow to make sure I don't have any respiratory infections. I'm not loving this fall thus far.

I do have a MUCH shorter second book that I'll start once I finish my first one. I've learned to check my page counts now LOL

And no - absolutely no rushing for me. My body is done, my brain is done. I'm at the point of being able to get the kids to school, sleep and read, and pick the kids up from school and then I have car pools set up for after school sports and such right now. I'm at a very slow crawl.

Man, we are quite the bunch! Sorry you aren't feeling well, but glad that you get to see the doctor! Hope you start feeling better soon. Thank goodness for our tribe huh! Review: This series was incredible! Caleb's story wasn't what I expected it to be and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the choices the guys made in this book. It was the perfect conclusion to this series and the ladies already have me interested in the next one that they spun off from here. The Hacker that Moira calls in to help find Sunday in this book, and Noah's sister. I highly recommend this series for RH darker PNR readers. Richly detailed, gorgeous characters with intense and amazing growth, plot twists in unexpected areas and places, unexpected loyalties, unexpected betrayals, and a Hemsworth thrown in just for fun.

Tribes are everything! One of mine is our daughter's advisor at school. She let the daughter's teacher's know I was coming in for conferences yesterday, but that my energy was SHOT. We had the most low key conferences that we have ever had. It was nice. And my friend set up some "non conferences" essentially she dragged a few of my old teachers who are still teaching into the conference room and booked me a quick time with them to say hi and to let them know I was making sure they didn't have to teach my daughter.

Review This was pretty good. Lots of characters and storyline. It packs a punch that's for sure! I like the heroine for the most part, but she acts childish a bit. I've read books where the female MC is a baddie and this one needs to grow into it lol. It wasn't my favorite, but it kept my attention and I will continue on with the series. There is one part of the story I'm not too fond of, but hope it works.

Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments Hi - just checking in. I’m reading. I live in the town where the cops were killed. We’re a small town as no one ever really moves out of it, and most families have been here for generations. Essentially everyone knows everyone. My family is fine, my extended circle isn’t. Reading has just been difficult as focusing has been shot over the last 48 hours. 😢

Review I really enjoyed this one! Mafia boss gets his queen in the best of way. There was action, suspense, drama, revenge plots, steam upon steam! Even with the insta love I liked it.

Rafe was feared by all and cherished by some. Amalia is thrown into his life unknowingly to him. She wants nothing to do with him and his care for her. He fell first which was so refreshing. That dude knew how to sweet talk a woman and how to dirty her up too!

Review: Cooper Rock is the book all of Pippa's fans have been waiting for. I think we'd all sort of accepted that he was never going to talk to her. This book was every thing I needed this week, and it was everything I'd ever hoped for for Cooper. I adore Waverly, and I loved seeing all of the other Pippaverse people cameo and pop into this book. It's only fitting as Cooper has crashed so many of their books. I was able to genuinely laugh over this book this week and I'm glad I wasn't truly in reader mode as it allowed me to stretch this read out much longer than it typically would have taken me. Now to get Davis to declassify and unredact himself so we can get the rest of the Bro Code stories going. I don't think Cash is going to talk before Davis does. And Aspen is awwweeesssooommmnee. Davis needs her in his life.
