Task 4 - 15. Read a minimum of 600 pages in books with an audio edition.
You do not need to listen to the audio, but an audio edition must be available for you book to work for this task! Please include a link to the audio edition in your completion post. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

I think mine are all longer at this point as well. I need to see what I have in my kindle.

You are allowed one pass per round. 😊

You can use the 'add book/author' like usual, click on 'other editions' under the add button for your book. Often the audiobooks have slightly different covers, both shape and design, so they are easier to pick out. Or from the editions page, click on an audiobook to open that link and copy the URL into your completion - links don't have to be pretty as long as they work. If there is no audio listed on GR, you are free to link from audible or Amazon to show the audio availability. If the above doesn't want to work, just say there is an audio available and I will see if when I check the page count on the editions page.

I'm jealous! I had hoped to be able to get to that even this year, but I can't. You're going to have so much fun!
Are any of the authors you ARC read for attending authors at the event?

Review: This one, for all of it's length, was a fast predictable read. There are a lot of loose ends and sort of dead end characters introduced. Olive is a great character on her own and with her female friends, but it's like she reverts back to a shy child around Jason. Her brother Dylan I want to just punch. In a very sensitive area. Her parents sound like they have an incredible back story - yet it's never mentioned. Jason does have good growth in the story as a character. The author flip flops on his mom accidentally ODing on meds and wine or if it's an actual suicide. She off handedly mentions his father's death and she NEVER mentions how he even gets into acting or WHY he gets into acting. These would have been key to his base character.

Review I enjoyed this one, but not quite as much as the first one. It was for sure hot with it being a MMFM. The relationship between the guys was way believable. I think if it were longer (maybe a duet) I'd feel really connected with them as four. I really enjoy the continuation of the storyline from book to book. Hope to continue with it soon.

You're welcome! There will be a few authors who I arc for that will be at LoveNVegas! Shantel Tessier, CM Radcliff/CaliMelle, Trilina Pucci and so many more I'm excited to meet!

OOhhhhhh!! I really liked that one. The dialogue from Justin got on my nerves to no end as the author keeps having him say things like "So you want to do this or nah?" Which I have heard my entire life - yet STILL makes me want to harm him fictionally. It's similar to when my college friends used to over use "you wanna come with?"
The author has ties to the production and design side of the fashion industry and she's stayed on top of it. She gets major points from me for depicting it truthfully, clearly, and properly. Even down to the classes at Parsons.
She also has ties to entertainment law in LA. I checked in with a few of my intellectual property law peeps and the story lines hold for this one. She did her research, the plot is solid, and it reads well.
The rest I'll leave to you. It's a a 4 star for me for those reasons and then my typical character growth, maintaining characters throughout the storyline, and depiction of human life in all of its forms properly and kindly.

I was looking at your "read" shelf and all I can think of is
You may want to read Julia Wolf's Savage U series and
You may REALLY want to join Alley Ciz's reader's grp, or Holly Renee's, or Rachel Leigh's.
They along with Julia are author buddies. I know Alley is utterly ruthless about posting texts from them in her readers group.
Then they all carry on the conversation in the readers group like it's still a chat thread LOL
I was on Julia's ARC team for a little bit. I had to take a break due to life. But I had really wanted to go to Vegas to see Alley and her Writing Coven as well as the three you mentioned, Rebecca Jenshak, and Laura Lee?
Once I realized I wasn't going to be able to swing being away at Vegas and then at Indies in November I stopped looking at the attending author lists and such. It hurt too much.
I'm so excited and jealous for you! Have so much fun! (Wear the most comfortable shoes you own though.)

Rating/Review: 3.5 Stars. I was not a big fan of Carey at first, a lot of things he said and the way he carried himself rubbed me the wrong way. However, I like how the author developed his character throughout the story and how his interaction with Rowan helped him grow/learn. For such a short story it was definitely a slow burn and not a lot of spice. Also, the hot tub scene was so cute!!

Review I enjoyed this one. Justin had SO much going on in his personal life - with family, bandmates, job, everything. Kayla was leaving where she made a home and ended back where her family was. No one really knew what made her live when life appeared to be going so well for her. I almost wish there were a bit more drama when it came to their relationship. I listened to the audio and it was tons of fun! Grandma was amazing ... Ned's dead hahaha. Then with phone calls and text message, so good!

Review: I liked the plot and the characters had a good arc and depth to them for the length of the book. I wish we'd seen more of the Stone family as that seems like it would be never ending comedy. And I think I may see if the rest of the series is Alex's teammates. Alex and Charley were fun characters. I loved the "I've loved you forever, but it took me growing up to realize it" plot line. It was really less My Best Friend's brother's trope and more childhood friends to lovers with a long gap in that history.
*Book was previously titled Big Puck by Blake Wilder as per the precis. This book will appear on my read shelf as Making His Play by Mari Carr which is the current title and publication.

Review:I was disappointed in this book. The author is part of a sports romance writers group whom typically turn out stronger works than this one was. The dialogue was fun, but I found the side characters more interesting than the main couple. The plot should have been more well developed but it truly was just a thin book about a woman with very low self confidence and her brother's best friend "helps teach her" how to be more confident as an attractive datable woman. One of those books where you COULD have a real plot but instead they are just on each other all of the time. Oh well.

Review This is only the second book I've read by this author. This was a feel good read.
Feeling lost and alone after a long-term relationship is ended out of the blue, Cybil finds herself in Montana attending a trip that her ex was supposed to accompany her with. If only it wasn't a "couples retreat" she was attending solo.
Only thing going for her ... Tanner who she had a run in with it towns works for the retreat as a guide. Who just so happens to be chosen as her plus one. Little by little the tension and attraction starts to stir and heat up. It wasn't super steamy (not sure if that's the norm for this author), but I still enjoyed it. Tanner is rugged, strong and a protector at heart. He was just what she needed to help heal her broken heart.
It did end up having one of my least favorite tropes in it, but in this book I believed the relationship enough to have iffy feelings regarding it

Review:This was another "meh" read for me. I'm still trying to decide if it's a 2.5 star or a full 3 star read. I'm not crazy about how the male characters treat the female lead over her clothing choices. I'm also not a fan of "do as I say, not as I do" which is how all of the guys are written. It's not only incredibly childish, it's highly insulting and disgusting from female authors. Added to it that this book is supposedly set in Berkley and I wanted to scream. I also have massive issues with two women who are familiar with the US higher educational system, one of whom lives in CA, not doing the most basic of research into the university they set their book in. It's not even the location. They played okay with the Berkley/Oakland area, but it's the simple things such as not researching into the quarter system that the entire UC system runs on vs the semester system that the bulk of the US universities use. There isn't a fall ball season, but their baseball season DOES start sooner than those in the Eastern states. I'll give them a pass on the UC Berkley or the Cal Berkley references as my friend who attended Berkely was a Bay Area native. I only ever called heard her call it "Berkley" while her siblings referred to their school as the full "UCLA". But.... I can honestly say... I think people would not take kindly to the Berkley Bears Baseball team being a collective fandom of the Anaheim Angels. That's just an opinion. From the one time I went to a sports bar in S. Just overall I was annoyed with the book, but I hadn't looked at who the authors were. I assumed that when I reached the end I would find them to be either individuals who hadn't grown up in the area, weren't American authors or a host of other explainable items. That was not the case. One is a former news journalist and graduate of NYU and the other is a CA native. No excuse for the lack of research in this book. Nor for the odd ball references to going to hell for lusting after an adult woman who is your best friend's sister. Or a host of other random and weird faith references with an occasional zodiac sign behavioral thing thrown in and then back to the clothing she's wearing and how they can't "take her out in public as there will be riots" The better story would have been focusing on Wes' highly abusive and dysfunctional home life growing up, the impact that Stacey and Chad and their home had on him, focusing more on his grandmother and the residents in her nursing home who became family to him after her passing, having true player/coach interaction when Wes' Dad makes highly inappropriate and oddly timed appearances in the book.. or I'll just read Meghan Quinn from now on. Sigh. 2.5 I guess.

I’d say go for it if you have the time! Unless Maggie or M have started something already. I’m 17 pages into a book that fits but it’s about 380 pages long and I’m a slow reader lol so don’t count on me to finish it too quick!
