I can't express how much I'm loving this book. I open the pages and everything around me just disappears. Except laundry. That's something that never disappears!! Haha.

Same! I really want to take a shower as its already 12;40 lol but I can't stop myself from picking the book up, it's such a smooth read and you can't help but wonder what's going to happen next.

@Kasia: LoL I know what you mean, between working, NFL Week 1, and about to hit 20% in Fairy Tale, this is shaping up to be incredible. I can already tell!

Thanks so much, Theresa!
Little over 400 pages in, favorite King in years, being such a huge fan of 'The Talisman' and 'Eyes of the Dragon' this is what I've been waiting for since those books.

Whoa high praise! I actually haven't read those two books yet, now I must.

I'm on page 104 / Ch. 6 and the set up is so touching and heartfelt, so I'm curious how King (view spoiler)

Being 36% done and now knowing what Mr. Bowditch’s secret was I can’t help but wonder if Charlie will be able to make good use of it in Radar’s benefit. Also, what’s the danger he may face if adventuring himself into the unknown? I wish I had advanced way more with my reading, but considering the week and weekend I can’t complain. I look forward to discovering what’s yet to come.

I wanted to read a lot more this weekend and love where the plot of this book is going.
And the character of Charlie is just great. I love this kid!

If you are enjoying this I believe you will love "The Talisman' it does have a lot of parallels in the story with 'Fairy Tale'. (view spoiler)

Scott wrote: "Little over 400 pages in, favorite King in years, being such a huge fan of 'The Talisman' and 'Eyes of the Dragon' this is what I've been waiting for since those books."I agree wholeheartedly with this! I'm just past 300 pages now and I get such a vibe of his other fantasy books when reading it. He really can create such a magical setting.
I love looking at the spoilers you guys are guessing at! I'm to a whole other spot with a few questions of my own. But I won't share them until I see some others have reached the place I'm at. My reading should slow down a bit this week now that I'm back to work. The people Charlie's met along his journey (we all know he must take one, this being a Hero's Journey type story, after all) are simply amazing! Every bit as fall-in-love-able as Mr Bowditch and Radar. And at this point I think it's safe to say that the prize for my all-time most loved canine in any fictional story goes to ....... Radar, of course! ❤

Apparently The Talisman will be a show, the Duffer Brothers who did Stranger Things are going to work on it.

Oh I hope this is really going to happen. I also see in an article from July they're supposed to be teaming up with Amblin Entertainment for this series. But I don't hold my breath on any King adaptations these days. Too many have fallen through the cracks. I'll just stay hopefully optimistic! 😊
I think they can pull it off as they started their own production company so maybe they will have more say and get it done :)
I'm loving Fairy Tale, it's one of those books that you don't want to end.

My book arrived so I already started reading it earlier this afternoon. Just made it to Chapter 3. :)
Thoughts so far - loving this book already. Classic King to be able to pull the reader into his world. As always the smooth style of writing just slowly draws you into King's mind.
Now for spoiler stuff - lol.

I am so loving how the story is told - it just pulls you straight into the heart and mind of King - like stepping into a comfortable robe and sinking down into your favorite cozy chair.
Going to be taking my time reading this book so I can absorb it. :)

Also one more thing:
Love the illustrations on the front page of each chapter! They are awesome! I find myself peering closely at them admiring the details of each drawing. :)

@Marie - seriously!! I was trying to read on my lunch break and someone started talking to me ... about work stuff! Sigh. I kept checking the time to see how many minutes I could have spent inside the pages of the book instead!
