Enjoy guys! So far the storyline doesn't peak my interest too much, so I'll wait and see what everyone thinks. Have fun!😊

Vickie, don't rain on our parade, we're just starting the race lol!

I hope it's awesome but haven't read fantasy from King in a while so very curious about it :)

Nice Gareth! I love the UK cover, very different from ours.

Didn't think I was doing that, being that I did say "enjoy it!" and "have fun!" 😏😉
I have the book coming my way so should get it maybe next week so I will be on here joining at some point. Might have to play catch up with you all! :)

Speeding through it, nice :) I'd love it if my kid took one of his rare legendary 3 hour naps today, I'd get so much reading done haha.

I bet you would! I've had a rather quiet day at work so I'm catching up a bit with my readings, and this book has kept me quite interested.
Oh if only I could read at work! I brought it in to read at lunch and I've been eyeing it the rest of the day. It's taking all of my strength to not pick it up and keep reading. I'll jump back in after I get settled at home for the evening. German Shepherds are my absolute favorite doggos. We had them when I was growing up. So I'm head over heels in love with Radar. Such a good girl!

Radar is the part I'm the most excited about!

I'm currently reading it, on page 170 and yes Charlie and his interaction with Radar can' help but tug on you're heartstrings
Ha same, I get so emotional, put an animal in a book and I'm like (even if its all good)...

OK my kid is asleep, off to read :D

Woohoo!!! Thanks so much Kas for starting this buddy read and I'm so excited to see everyone that's joined!!I'm about 40 pages into the book so far and I also love the blossoming relationship of Charlie & Radar.
The characterization so far is well done and I'm liking Charlie so far!

Normally this kind of stuff doesn't get to me, but the characters are so well written that it really is starting to me up, especially because it reminds me of having losing my cat 2 years ago.
Aww Scott, you have all my love, so sorry to hear about your precious companion. <3 Lost one myself in Nov 2020 that still burns my heart.
Greetings, my friends! Also reading this now and looking forward to discussing it what you all! I'm a bit behind, about 4% in but loving it so far! LoL been swamped with work with the upcoming NFL season opener but should be able to make a nice dent over these next few days :-)
@LTJ & @Dan - Totally agree with you both and hope it makes a comeback. I love seeing illustrations again at the beginning of a chapter or even somewhere in the book.
Scott wrote: "Normally this stuff..."Totally get it Scott on your beloved cat. We had to put our awesome and fearsome dog Duke down in 2020.
Old dogs that are loved in books are hard to read about.
I'm so sorry to all who have lost furry loved ones recently. 😔 Our family also had to say goodbye to our lovely ginger tom in 2020. We lost him to kidney disease. He was such a sweet boy. 2020 was a horrible year.Is anyone else savoring this book? I don't want to read it too quickly. I'm loving the character development and scene setting in the old house and I know the quicker I read it, the quicker it will be over. I just want to hang out with Charlie and Radar for a little bit longer before things begin to happen!

I read a little more at lunch today. Besides the pure joy I'm getting from reading this book - I'm reminded of Stephen King's use of foreshadowing ..... just when I'm in my happy place loving Charlie, Radar, Mr. Bowditch, King throws in a huge painful monkey wrench of a sentence that warns me to get ready! Things are about to get unreal! And that's where I closed the book to get back to work! Ahaha.
Theresa, you're such a poet when you describe your reading progress! I read a little bit on last night and going to dive back in shortly :)

I enjoy words - both reading them and stringing them together. I hope you've had a chance to read a bit more this afternoon! I'm about to head for home, do the chore thing and then maybe read some more before I pass out for the night! Wish me luck!
Yes I did, thank you and fully in love with Radar, gosh I was tearing up by page 20 haha.
Good luck on getting some more delicious reading done :D

@Kasia: Awe, thank you for the kind words, my friend! That means a lot to hear! I'm off the next 2 days so will definitely put some serious reading time into this one :-)
@Dan: Me too, the illustrations add such a nice touch and brought me some nice nostalgia from when I used to read as a teenager! They need to make a comeback for sure!
I just started the audiobook on this - I just couldn't resist! But it looks like I will have to go grab a physical copy to see these illustrations everyone is talking about.
Picked up a copy of this yesterday. I'll begin once I finish reading my current book. Can't wait to get started and join in!
I’m about 215 pages in or so. Interested to see where this goes from here, as I have reached a pivotal point.
Dan wrote: "I’m about 215 pages in or so. I already know I want to go back for a re-read and track all of the references to King's multiverse! This book is so appealing on so many levels. It's hitting all of my Stephen King nerd triggers!
I went out and got the book last night, very excited. I need to finish Linda Castillo’s new book but will be starting this soon.
