good read

I received an arc of this book from goodreads courtesy of Simon & Schuster Canada. I just finished reading it today and absolutely loved it. the story is historical including parts of WWI and the Halifax Explosion of 1917. the story was a heart wrencher that brought laughter, tears both of sorrow and happiness. I would really recommend this to others who want to read a good, heartfelt story.

Loved the setting and the author's look at life during this time period. The characters were great, very likeable.
