By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes ...

October arrives in 30 days. Temperatures moderate, rain rolls in, leaves turn bright reds, yellows and oranges, soon to scratch at windows in autumn winds, or crunch underfoot like layers of corn flakes.

So, let's think autumn and October ...

And, especially, the last day of October.

What spooky, creepy mystery would you like to read? What sounds right for a quiet night, the fire going, the wind whipping by, curtains drawn to fend off the possibility of ghostly appearances outside the window?

Something Gothic? Something supernatural? Or maybe one that only flirts with the supernatural before Velma, Fred and Daphne solve the puzzle while Shaggy and Scooby snack out?

It's up to you!

Post your nomination here up to September 11. On September 12 or soon thereafter I'll create a poll. And remember, if you nominate a book, you get to lead the discussion.

Lastly, the latest of Nancy's Reading the Movies discussions is just starting, this time for Leave Her to Heaven by Ben Ames Williams.

Dawn I’ve read sun down motel and highly recommend! I’ve been hesitant to read her other books as I loved the spooky side as much as the realistic characters of this well written tale.

Okay all, nominations are in and I will set up the poll sometime today or tomorrow.

message 20: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Eeek! Guess I didn't realize I would be leading the discussion next month. No problem, I only finished Shutter Island recently and was thrilled by it! (However, I have not watched the film.)

Looking forward to next month!
