Lena (madworld) | 232 comments So! about 25% a week puts us on the following schedule:

Week 1: beginning - chapter 7
week 2: chapters 8 - 17
week 3: chapters 18 - 26
week 4: chapters 27 - end

hope everyone's ok with that :)

Anna A. Lane (annaalane) | 119 comments Sounds great!

Lena (madworld) | 232 comments Ok, so I'm really happy that it's not a break-up story, which I thought it might be at the beginning.
I like the idea for the story - I'm getting the 'Bodyguard' movie vibe and so far I'm enjoying it.
I'm not quite sure whether I like Hannah yet... She seems to be a bit miserable and possibly seIfish(-ish), but that's just my first impression, it might change. And at this point I don't have much else to say. I'm waiting for some more action :)

Nicky W. (Bookstacks_and_Coffeecups) | 59 comments I really liked their meet cute and Hannah proving she can take someone down by flipping Jack on his back. I definitely like their chemistry already I think it’s an interesting idea that because she’s seen him on screen so often she already knows some of the expressions he makes for some of his feelings/moods.
I also can’t wait to find out what really happened with Jacks brother. I can definitely tell already I’m going to enjoy this one!

LC Cardadeiro | 232 comments Hahaha when she flipped him. That was great. I totally wasn’t expecting the bodyguard to be female, but I love this concept for a book. She super professional so I wasn’t even sure where this book was going at first.

Anna A. Lane (annaalane) | 119 comments I am a bit behind but am using my sickdays to catch up. That is if the fever finally winds down and allows me to do anything other than sleep.

I love how there is a genderbend here with Hannah being the bodyguard. The premise of this book had me at fake dating, probably one of my favourite tropes.

To be honest, Robby is a dickhead with an ego that’s probably too big dor his own good. I hope he can somewhat change and be more likeable.

Can’t wait to read further. So far I find it a quick and easy read.

Anna A. Lane (annaalane) | 119 comments I am now halfway through the book and I really like it. I like how easy Hannah and Jake communicate while still both holding on to their own secrets. It leaves some tension there.

Jack’s parents are so cute. Hank is a piece of work but I do think he’s hurting and I hope him an Jack are able to work it all out.

Hannah is such a badass. I like her a lot as a protagonist!

Lena (madworld) | 232 comments Similar impressions here.
I like to read all the scenes where Hannah and Jack spend time together. Hannah, though, is a bit of a hmm... pickle for me - I want to like her, but she's so impulsive and has a black-and-white approach to everything. She's either happy or she's crying, one minute she has a best friend, next she decides that she's all alone in the world, moves apartments and crosses her so-called-until-recently best friend out of her life without exchanging a word with her... That's a bit extreme for me.
I can see why Robbie wasn't happy with Hannah and why he decided to move on - he simply didn't feel loved, can't blame him. Yes, breaking up with her just after her mum passed away was not right. Yes, going behind her back and hitting on her best friend was not right either and way too soon... but at the end of the day - he did not cheat on her and Hannah acted as if he did.
I think she's just so focused and passionate about her job that nothing else matters and her friends/boyfriends can see it.
Hope that changes sooooooon :)
I'm definitely enjoying the story, but I'm not overly crazy about it.

Nicky W. (Bookstacks_and_Coffeecups) | 59 comments I agree that she seems ultra focused on her job and I think the nature of that keeps her from fully forming attachments. How would you be fully present in your own life if you’re constantly on the fringes of someone else’s life? That being said I will say that I disagree about Robby and think he’s a total douche canoe.
I love that Hannah and Jack smile and laugh around each other more and I really appreciate that as much as she likes him as an actor she’s genuinely looking to see him for him; in fact that’s what she wants most. I also absolutely adore his mom.

Lena (madworld) | 232 comments Hm, I'm not exactly defending Robby - not the way he did things, for sure. However his decision to break up - yes, because if I put myself in his shoes and a guy I was with didn't really love me and all he cared about was his job I would break up with him too.

Nicky W. (Bookstacks_and_Coffeecups) | 59 comments Yeah I can understand that. If you’re feeling unloved and ignored of course you don’t want to stay in that situation. I just get the feeling he’s a bit smarmy.

Lena (madworld) | 232 comments I've just finished my chapters and WOW! Robby really IS a douche canoe! Lol😂😂 You were right, Nicky 😃

Anna A. Lane (annaalane) | 119 comments My god, that Robby is a dick! I knew, absolutely, but wow!

I love Jack, he's so genuine and himself and so not acting! I just hope he and Hannah can find a way to end up together.

Regarding to Hannah's stance towards Taylor; I get that she feels betrayed by Taylor. She thought she was her friend and someone to support her—someone who was on her side.

Lena (madworld) | 232 comments I've finished reading early this week and I really liked how everything wrapped up. I loved how Hannah could coldly analyze the situation (when she showed up for their date and left crying) despite all the emotions roaming in her head.
I liked that she managed to forgive Taylor (to some extent at least) and that we got to see what happened with Jack and Hannah's relationship after they finally got together. The epilogue was such a cherry on the cake - I loved it and finished reading with some serious goose bumps :)

Anna A. Lane (annaalane) | 119 comments I couldn't agree more with you here, Lena! Hannah, ever the professional (if you forget she went against her boss's orders)

And Wilbur! That poor man! Glad even he got a happy ending!

Am I the only one who'd be interested in reading Hank's story? I could definitely see a grumpy/sunshine story for him!
