J. Robinson-Readersgottoread (mysterymom40) | 73 comments I enjoyed the history, the little bit of
romance, and the passionate
dedication of the main character in
the book.

I listened to the audiobook and
missed some of the mystery from the
past and was confused with some of
the names (which is part of the
mystery itself). :) Totally my fault and I
will definitely do a hybrid read if/when
I try book 2.

It had many of the tropes of a cozy:
small town, group of eclectic friends,
murder done off page, cute pet, and
budding romance. :)

What is your favorite trope in a cozy?
Mine is nosy neighbors or friends

Kimiko | 88 comments Just finished the book this past weekend. I was surprised by the murderer because I got all caught up with the past revelations...who is related to whom within the 3 families...but it certainly kept one's mind busy trying to keep it all straight in one's head. Whew!

I liked the geneology/ancestral history hook of this series. Although I'm not sure I'll read any more in this series.

Icewineanne | 349 comments Glad you somewhat enjoyed this Kimiko. If you change your mind & decide to read the next book, I found that it was even better than the first book and the third, again is even better than the first two.
But I do recommend that they be read in order.
Happy reading whatever you pick up 📚📚📚

Kimiko | 88 comments Thank you. I might consider reading the next one. I usually like to read any series in order so as not to "miss" something in the progression of the character and her life. Thanks again.
