I enjoyed the history, the little bit ofromance, and the passionate
dedication of the main character in
the book.
I listened to the audiobook and
missed some of the mystery from the
past and was confused with some of
the names (which is part of the
mystery itself). :) Totally my fault and I
will definitely do a hybrid read if/when
I try book 2.
It had many of the tropes of a cozy:
small town, group of eclectic friends,
murder done off page, cute pet, and
budding romance. :)
What is your favorite trope in a cozy?
Mine is nosy neighbors or friends
Just finished the book this past weekend. I was surprised by the murderer because I got all caught up with the past revelations...who is related to whom within the 3 families...but it certainly kept one's mind busy trying to keep it all straight in one's head. Whew!I liked the geneology/ancestral history hook of this series. Although I'm not sure I'll read any more in this series.
Glad you somewhat enjoyed this Kimiko. If you change your mind & decide to read the next book, I found that it was even better than the first book and the third, again is even better than the first two.But I do recommend that they be read in order.
Happy reading whatever you pick up 📚📚📚
