I usually don't like love triangles, but this one was so interesting. Robin didn't like Adam and didn't want him sniffing around Jules. He knew Adam was just using Jules and that Jules was going to be hurt.
Robin is in deep denial about his sexuality. He was sleeping his way through the women in the production, trying to prove to himself that he wanted women. He seems to be totally drawn to Jules. And that kiss was off the charts.
I did not really see it as a love triangle per see. Once Jules realized Adam's true intentions, he was done with him. Adam also manipulated Robin into sleeping with him. He took advantage of him and Robin is definitely not in love with Adam. The question is rather about Jules and Robin getting together than either one of them being with Adam (the jerk!).
To my mind, Robin is bisexual and in denial about being attracted to men. That said, he develops strong feelings for Jules, which he will not be able to deny for much longer.
Robin really liked Jules and took his betrayal by Adam as his own. Later we learn that Robin had a horrid childhood. Many in Physic believe that that can tip the gay factor.
Robin liked Jules from their first meeting, nothing sexual. He took an immediate dislike to Adam because he could see what kind of person he was. Robin inserted himself between Jules and Adam because he could see Jules was vulnerable and wanted to protect him. And, it was an opportunity to annoy Adam.
But, I can’t ignore his response to Jules when they kissed. Jules recognizes that he is a man who doesn’t understand his sexuality yet. What tipped the scales for me is his sexual feelings for Jules was so much more than those he felt when he was intimate with Patty. He felt nothing with her. And, I trust Jules’ opinion.
I see it as a triangle because Adam is trying to make it so. Robin has a drinking problem and Adam is a predator. He will try to insert himself between Jules and Robin because he also sees their dynamic.

Jonetta wrote: " Adam is a predator"This exactly!
Adam realized immediately that there was a connection between Robin and Jules and did everything in his power to destroy that. His actions are reprehensible.
I thought Brockmann did a really good job with Adam’s character. He’s shrewd and calculating but behind a handsome mask. He’s pretty dangerous and I finally understood by the end of the story why Jules was so vulnerable to him.
I agree that Robin is in denial about his sexuality throughout the story. He felt something for Jules from the beginning. He was very angry with Adam when he realized he had used Jules to get the part. At that point, Robin didn't know Jules for more than a few days. It wasn't enough time to even form a friendship. Also, I've been around enough actors to know that they don't think twice about taking a part that will give them a boost in their career. Robin suffered in the role of a gay man. It reveals too much about his fears of being gay.
Adam was a piece of cake. He is a big manipulator. Adam used both Jules (for a long time) and Robin in the short term. It made my heart hurt when he used Robin to hurt Jules. There wasn't any reason for Adam to take Robin home except to hurt Jules by saying I got him first.
There was a triangle of Adam's making for his personal gain. Adam didn't care about either man. I believe that he saw Robin as a potential career booster. I'm sure that he hoped to have a connection to Jane and her contacts through Robin.
I agree Brockman did a good job developing this character.
Well stated, Sharon! I especially like how you perceive Robin’s denial. That’s an important aspect that Robin attached to Jules really fast.
