the new details page no longer distinguishes between
a year only: 1990 --> Jan 1st, 1990
an omitted day: January 1990 -> Jan 1st, 1990
and a specific date: Jan 1st, 1990 -> Jan 1st, 1990
Is this on purpose? How to handle that?
