Eeek I would say I'd join y'all but I read Spooky Spider this past monster and I didn't like it. I'm not sure if it's because I read them out of order or if that makes a difference?

Haha are we all reading the same book? Did you use spooky and search for books with the word on the title? That’s what I did and the first book to come up was Spooky business and there are 30 of them or more.
Did you read it JenniferJ and didn’t like it? I don’t like the look of it but I shouldn’t be judging a book by its cover right?

I think we are just waiting on JenniferJ, but she thought she'd be done today or yesterday! I'm almost done with the Hellion BR book, I paused and am saving the last section for when everyone is finished. I'm sure you can start Alma, and just wait to finish until we for sure know JennferJ is done.

I can't even remember how I found that Spooky book, but I'm almost positive I just searched Spooky like you said!

Today has been so busy. I'm just off the coast of South Carolina and we been getting ready for storm Ian. I pray all we get is heavy rains. School has already been cancelled until next week. Our biggest concern at the moment where we live is power outages and flooding. I been trying to get all our lights, kindles, and all charged and pulling out candles and all just in case. I'd rather be ready and not need any of it than need it and not have it ya know? lol

My hubby works on Department of Transportation and has been working 10 hour shifts all week and that continues until further notice. They've been trying to get ahead and make sure all the bridges were cleared to prevent as much flooding as possible and trimming back trees best as they could from the power lines.

I'll try to check in as much as I can provided I have power but if it gets to rough me and the babies will be headed to my moms so it may be a day or so before I can get back online. Rest assured I'll be armed with my kindle and a bookbag of books. lol

OK so I am off to update the SS. Then I'm heading to bed to read a bit. Big Hugs and hope you ladies stay safe if you're also affected by this storm.

By the way, I just finished Life’s too short. I don’t know what to think of it. It is based “slightly” on a true story and when I read I like to feel happy,intrigued,scared and many more feelings other than sad. And that’s what I am now. I need to start a funny book now before my water gates open up and I make a full of myself in front of my cat 😂.

I have recovered from my sad moment. I have been at home all day today still recovering from the chest infection and have finished Verity. I really enjoyed it.it is very different fro other books by Colleen Hoover. I was expecting a romance but I was biting my nails. JenniferJ I think you started reading and never finished it cause you have to return it. Take it out again whenever you can, it is good.

@Ashley We were very lucky! We didn't get near what they had anticipated but oh my I am totally not complaining! We got some high winds and loads of rain but thank the Lord we only lost power for a very short while. I should have done gotten on and posted an update but just been feeling a bit blah and not felt like doing much of anything. I have managed to complete 2 of my books and will get the SS updated in just a bit.

I will hopefully be done with Spooky Business soon. I just started it, but I think I'll get it done quickly.
I just reached Chapter 9 on Wuthering Heights... I thought it would take me forever, but I finally found an audiobook copy and that has helped, because I was struggling.

Also, I saw on the last Scoreboard update, we were in 4th! Coolness!

That’s quick Ashley, I hope you are enjoy both books. I tried withering height last year and kept falling asleep. I found it was really slow pace and didn’t help that I watched the movies.
I started my two books also. A discovery of witches is really good and I found there’s is a tv series about it. I am about half way through but I should be done with it this weekend. Spooky business is…not sure what. The hot guy with the amazing jaw has just appeared in the house. It is slow for me but it isn’t a long book so hopefully I’ll be done soon too.
How are you JenniferJ? I’m glad hurricane Ian didn’t do any damage in SC. I’m in Europe and we only get a snippet of what happened. I hope everyone is ok in Florida.

Spooky Business is holding me back! It isn't bad... it's just ... not good, and I haven't wanted to pick it up. I'll get it finished soon though, I swear!

On the bright side, I finished Wuthering Heights, which is a book I've DNFed MANY times over the years. I'm excited! But, it was not good either, so ... oh well!

Haha I feel your pain. I didn’t want to discourage you but that book was, as you say, not bad but not good either. I think a ten year old could enjoy it immensely. I,on the other hand, was expecting a bit more juicy and interesting bits to it. There is a lot more potential not explored.
Widening heights is a tricky book. I tried to read it over the years, just like you, and just didn’t happened so you should be proud of your achievement 😂
Now, I can proudly say all my books are done. A discovery of witches was alright but I find hard to read about vampires and not think about sweets and Halloween and children.😂 it really isn’t my cup of tea. I can take it or leave it and wouldn’t be missing it.

I'm the opposite! I loooove a Vampire book! I still love Twilight, even though it's the bain of half the world's existence. Paranormal is my jam. Last year I started really branching out again, so I love other stuff too now, but if I'm having a reading slump, I go back to vampire or werewolves.

I am more a thriller reader but I enjoy paranormal too. I am more of a mood reader though as to which genre I pick up. Right now I'm in that cozy paranormal phase I guess because of Halloween coming up. I actually just got done with a review book about a werewolf Ashley! lol It's called Division X and comes out sometime this month. It's okay but was really only like a three star for me.

I agree with you. It wasn't awful, I found it a bit simple but the cat and the granny were the best. I'd love to be able to have conversation with my cat. She'd be really passive aggressive and quick witted im sure 😁
