The Academy For Mythical Creatures discussion
Jay let out a dramatic sigh of relief, putting his hands behind his back. “Hah! Now that you mention it, it kind of does! Hmmm…Rebel Jay and his sidekick Ultra Yuri! Okay, that sounds tacky. Does it sound tacky?” He raised both his brows with a quizzical expression.
“Yeah! That’s the theme I was going for.” Jay laughed along with her. “I guess we’re done with 20 questions. But I do have another question. Have you ever read the files in the principal’s office?” He smirked, his grin now mischievous.
“Well...” Jay put his hands together, taking a short few glances at their surroundings and leaning in to whisper, “I'm sure the files hold some information. Maybe we'll find info about a secret passageway in the school that some troublemaker found out of!” He said, excitement in his tone.
“That,” Jay grinned wider. “Is where an old friend of mine comes in. We can sneak in once he gets in trouble. Happens all the time. I'm sure you've heard of Lyzandre Gallin? He's kind of got this big evil father ego going on.”
“Exactly!” He exclaimed, no longer leaning forward on the table. “We don't have to now, of course. But you know, that'll be interesting. And I'll take the blame if we get caught.” Jay gave her a wholehearted smile.
He shrugged, signaling it was no biggie. Jay noticed the glint in her eye, and having always been good with feeling others emotions, the cervitaur put his hand on hers in a friend-way. “Hey, don't feel like it'll be your fault. Technically it's mine, I gave the idea. And then afterwards, I'll buy you a bunch of popsicles. How's that sound?” He beamed, lightening the whole café.
Jay mentally gave himself a pat on the back for knowing it would cheer his friend up. “I'll give you....three guesses. Pick a totally-there-and-not-made-up card, any card!” He spread his arms out as an invitation.
Jay sat, mouth agape, at Yuri. “You’re….the SMARTEST PERSON I HAVE EVER MET!” He bellowed. “Okay, fine, you caught me. Yes. I do want to discover all the secrets of the school. Humbly inspired by Harry Potter.”
“I’ve only watched the movies.” Jay said, sheepishly. “Not much of a reader unless it’s for building and stuff like that.” He noticed her surprised look, and he, too, was quite awestruck. Yep. ‘We’re gonna get along just great.’ He thought with a small smile.
“We have a,” Jay paused and looked out the window. “Special way of communication. That’ll be no problem at all for both. Lyzandre gets in trouble at least 4 times a day.” Jay replied simply, as though he’d done this before.
“You really don’t want to. He has quite the attitude for a freshmen..” Jay giggled. “Causes waaay too much havoc, but hey, if you pay him in candy he’ll cause more havoc for your own treacherous reasons. Obviously this is only my second time doing this, but little experience is better then none.”
“He blew up the school toilets in the girls restroom…and I caught him…” Jay sighed, exasperated at the memory. “And so he made a deal with me that we would take the robes from one of the teachers, and in return he’d not shove my head down the then-broken toilets.”
“Yeaaaah…I think he had help on that one.” Jay chuckled, shaking his head. “Honestly, you’d have to ask him in-person. Whatever goes on through Lyzandre’s mind is just about as whack as a whale on a ship sailing the seven seas of human land.”
“Yep!” Jay replied cheerily. “Like, on the third day if I had to take a guess. Either that or fourth day.”
“Yeah….okay, BUT now he owes me because I took part in something. I just have to uh.. steal a bird from the outside world for a second.” He rose his hands innocently, plastering a sly smirk on his face. “Anyways. Would you like to go for a walk? It’s sunny out.” He commented, nodding towards the door.
“That’s true. We’re taking up space anyways.” The cervitaur hopped out of his seat, and his hooves landed on the tiled floor with a ‘click’ and a ‘thud’. He looked at Yuri and offered his hand to her, keeping his mood forever kind but goofy.
“Maybe the lake?” Jay suggested earnestly. “I’m not sure where exactly. But that’s quite the fairly popular hang-out spot. We just have to hope nobody’ll kill us.” He joked.
“Anywhere you think you’re comfortable with is fine by me.” He spoke kindly, gesturing with his hands while stomping his front hooves for a second.
“Basically it’s just a bunch of squabbles and roars based off of some super weird dragon that’s said to be in the Tengri Tagh mountains down in Central Asia. I don’t pay attention to where they are usually, but yeah.” Jay responded, shrugging helplessly. “Buuut, we can discuss this in the library, where the smell of paper will take over your sense of smell.”
((Continue at the library now?))
Jay trotted along after her. The whole way there, he chit-chattered about explicable nonsense, hardly ever stopping to take a breather as they left the café.
((Yep! Could you post?))
"Got it." Des disappeared to the counter with a smile. If only her sister could see her now. This was probably the most she had socialized with a non-harpy in ages. She returned with a cup of steamed milk with caramel, and another of green tea. "Here you go." She said, handing Trover the tea.
