The dragon turned it's head, squeeking happily. It approached Josh and he froze, it gently butted his legs, "Uhhhhh. What's happening?"

Rachel moved away from the door and slowly walked over to the dragon, taking caution. She gazed at it for a few moments, smiling. "I think it likes you" she said. She picked up Aria, bending down and placing her in front of the dragon.
The dragon sniffed the phoenix and let out a squeek, crouching playfully
"Her name must be Amethyst!" Josh said
"Her name must be Amethyst!" Josh said
Aria chirped, taking an interest in the dragon. "They already like each other" Rachel said. She smiled. "That's a great name! It's amazing how spells can summon creatures like these."
"And by complete accident." he chuckled, Amethyst nuzzled against Rachel's legs.

"Exactly!" Rachel said. She smiled, bending down to pet Amethyst. "I also have two cats, so I wonder how they would react to Aria. There are also spells that can turn a human into a mythical creature, which can effect other mythical creatures as well."
"I think I've learned that one." he said, absent-mindedly tugging on his collar (not shirt collar) "And I'd hope the cats wouldn't be stupid enough to try and attack a phoenix! Even so, Aria would just revive."
Rachel nodded. "I don't think they would attack Aria. They would probably just be curious, knowing them. They're really sweet cats" she said. She gave a slight frown. "Do you want me take that collar off?" she asked.
He shook his head vigourously, "I-I can't take it off."
"Why not?" Rachel asked. Why would he not be allowed to take it off? Maybe that was what he meant when said 'free' she thought to herself.
Rachel frowned. "That's horrible. I'm so sorry you went through that" she said. She felt sad and angry for Josh. "People can be so cruel and heartless sometimes. No one deserves that."
He smiled sadly, "I can't help what happened in my past. I've grown used to it unfortunately. Do I still cry at night sometimes? Almost definitely."
Rachel nodded. "I have a friend back home who doesn't have the best relationship with her family, so I understand. That's why I call her often to make sure she's okay. And your family is no better for even allowing that to happen in the first place" she said.
"I agree," he sighed, "I just wish I had friends to talk to." he looked sad
Rachel frowned. "Don't worry. They're plenty of people at this school who are really nice. I'm sure if you find them, they would be more than willing to talk to you" she said. "I'm not much of a talker, so I'm probably not the first person you should go to."
"Then why have I been talking to you?" He joked
Rachel chuckled. "You have a point. But normally I'm quiet and don't say much. That's just how I am" she said. "But my sister and cousin are more outgoing. They're really nice and love talking to people."
"I'm normally anti-social too." he frowned
Rachel nodded. "I think I get it from my dad. He's more quiet than my mom. My sister has both our parents' personalities to an extent, but she's more like my mom" she said.
"I don't even know if I have any sibling." he said softly, sadness in his gaze
Rachel frowned. "You don't know if you have siblings or not?" she asked. "That's unfortunate. Is there a way you could maybe find out and possibly look for them? Like in a book or online?"
He shrugged, "Maybe. For all I know I could even be an uncle by now. But tell me, do you know how to do this spell?" He conjured up a fire arrow
"That's true. I'm not an aunt yet. My sister's too young to get married. Obviously my parents wouldn't allow it now" Rachel said. She shook her head. "Not yet. But I can try."
"I can help you out if you need help."
Rachel gave a small smile. "Really? That would be great! I appreciate that" she said. She chuckled. "How did you learn that spell before me, though?"
"Magic spell book?" He joked, "Show me your steps to making the fire arrow you use."
Rachel chuckled. "Okay" she said. She began by creating fire and casting a spell to form it into an arrow. "Like that? Or should I try again?"
"Hmmm, my book has a much simpler way to do it." he said. showing her
Rachel nodded. "Got it" she said. She took a deep breath, focusing and followed what Josh did, creating a fire arrow. "Is that better?"
"That's much better." he said, "Now you can create one using less energy and in less time."
Rachel smiled. "Thanks" she said. "My sister doesn't know much about fire spells. She mostly uses lightning for magic and to cast spells. She's learning, though."
he smiled, "Lightning is a difficult magic to use. There's a thousand ways a simple static shock could go wrong."
Rachel chuckled. "Yeah. We know that from experience. There have definitely been moments when my sister accidentally caused a few mishaps because of it. Luckily no one else but my parents and grandparents were around to see what happened" she said.
"That's good." He sighed. The baby dragon squeeked and butted her head against Rachel's legs. "It appears Amethyst wants pets or pats. Perhaps both."
Rachel smiled. "You want more pets? Okay, then" she said. She gently pet Amethyst's head, lightly patting her head. She pet Aria as well, stroking her feathers through her fingers.
Amethyst squeeked happily. Josh laughed, "She must really like you."
Rachel chuckled. "I guess so" she said. "She's friendlier than I expected, which is good of course. I'm just surprised she's not more nervous or scared by us."
"I summoned her, I guess it's like I gave birth to her. She might see you as her mom or dad or something." he looked thoughtful, "Although, I'm not sure how summons work."
"That could be true" Rachel said. "In a way, I'm like a mom to Aria. And my sister could be her aunt." She laughed, hugging the phoenix. "I'll do my best to take of you" she told her.
Aria chirped, content.
"Would that mean I'd be her father? I mean, I did summon her." he laughed
"Would that mean I'd be her father? I mean, I did summon her." he laughed
"I guess you would be, then" Rachel said. "I wonder how my parents would react to them. My sister would be excited, but my parents might be shocked that I have a phoenix as a pet."
"You can never predict how parents will react." Josh said, smiling
"True" Rachel said. She placed Aria on her desk, smiling. "I have some cats at home as well." She sighed. "I wish they were here now."
((I forgot to mention this, but you can post Amethyst in the Mythical Pet Creation if you want. I can approve her there.))

Oh right! Sure thing.))
"I might be able to summon them over here," he said slowly, "But they could appear with magical powers."
"I might be able to summon them over here," he said slowly, "But they could appear with magical powers."
"No, it's alright. You don't have to do that. I just miss them is all" Rachel said. She smiled. "It's nice of you to offer though. I've got plenty of company here. My sister, my cousin, two of my cats, and Aria. This might be a bit embarrassing to admit, but I have a lot of stuffed animals with me, too." She chuckled.
He smiled, chuckling, "Everyone brings something that reminds them of home."
"That's very true" Rachel said. "In fact, there's always one stuffed animal that I have me at all times. My teddy bear that my parents gave me. I've had him since I was three years old. He's definitely seen better days." She laughed.
Josh smiled, "I could probably mend him."
Rachel smiled. "That would be great!" she said. "He's pretty beat up though, so it might be hard even with magic." She reached for her backpack, pulling out her teddy bear. He had some bandages and stitches, suggesting that he was worn out. "Here he is. Don't ask about the bandages. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I pretended that I was a doctor to patch him up. I had a very vivid imagination as a kid. In a weird way, I kind of like the way he is. I guess it just brings back memories. But if you want to patch him up, that's fine."
