Such a cute, fun read! I love a brother’s best friend trope. I also love when there are texts or letters, there’s so much more openness.
Liv & Colin make a cute pair!

Hi Kayleigh - I approved your book in the Q&A. Make sure you post a selection for week 6 before the call in 12 hours...

Week 4
Option 1

Where I Belong by J. Daniels
Date read: 08/10/22
Rating: 4*
Review: Simple, sweet and spicy small town romance. Second chance for Mia and Ben who hated each other when they were young but have an instant connection when they meet again as adults. Mia fights it because of how horrible Ben was when they were young - and to be honest I could have done with more grovel. Enjoyable read and was just the book I needed.

I'll get back to you if we need to do a fix to balance the team with the others...
**edit**
We have a solution but it doesn't impact any teams until the last week :)

Review: I love this series. It was so much fun reading this original love story between a tomboy, a tough heroine and a jerk of a hero that protected her while being mean to her day after day. I liked the way the story progressively revealed the reasons for his past and present actions, so sweet, and by the middle, I was already in love with him.

Review: I loved this book, and was so surprised I did! It’s my 3rd Lucy score book and the other too were just okay for me. Maybe it was the storyline? I loved the dynamic between Dominic & Ally, and the slow burn until they got together. Dominic’s mom was also an awesome character! I would have given 5 stars but I’m not so much a fan of a controlling man all the time. Also the characters are meant to be older (39 & 44) but besides mentioning that, I wouldn’t picture them that way (a bit of lack of maturity). Overall a good read though!

Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
Date read: 11/02/2022
Rating: 5
Review: I’m a HUGE Christina Lauren fan so I figured I’d enjoy this, but it’s very different than most of what they write. This YA novel tugged at my heartstrings. I loved the dynamic between Tanner & Sebastian, and how they both helped each other in so many ways.

Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, sweet, hot and such an emotion twisted mess. I totally understand Chloe and Bennett's confusion to moving ahead with something that could go the wrong way since they started out hating each other well I that's what Chloe thought. I definitely want to continue this series.

A Night Like This by Julia Quinn
Date read: 11/07/2022
Rating: 4
Review: I love Julia Quinn’s witty, winsome writing. This book was sweet, entertaining, and so much fun to read. I liked Daniel as the main charm and wicked sense of humour. He learned from his past mistakes and took his responsibilities seriously.

Cole by Tijan

Review: Tijan is one of my favorites authors. This was one of those books that you couldn’t put down easily. It is well written and very put together.

Twisted Love by Ana Huang
Date read: 11/08/2022
Rating: 4
Review: Starting off the Twisted series, and I'll definitely continue! I really liked getting to know all the characters, even the side ones - I'm guessing since it's a series the author wanted to introduce them all well. I do think I need a break from these alpha male leads though... I'm kinda tired of the bossy, "I own you" type of characters!

Review: Vlad and Leila are good together but I feel like he's a bit closed off and to much of a bragger of himself. I guess for a vamp that has lived so long he has the right to brag. Leila has a strange power to see things that can make you think twice about touching her but I like her power. Not sure I would like her to touch me but I guess you take the good with the bad.
I will consider reading the other books to see how they move forward and what's going to happen next since we know this isn't the end.

Steel Wolf by Eve Langlais

The Broken Puppet by Amo Jones

Review: Elite mess
Definitely an entertaining story with a lot of twists. I don't even understand how Madison gets through the mess she does and still stands but now that some secrets seem to be out. Now I want to know what's next. I'm sure this isn't the end of the twist story.

Week #2 - 2. Mixed race 👩👨🏾
Option 1
Happy Hour at Casa Dracula by Marta Acosta
Read: 10/08/22
Rated: 4 stars
Review: Vampire not Vampire
Well there was definitely some strange things happening but not so much romance going on. I have to say Milagro was definitely in a mess in that department anyway since Sebastian was a jerk, Oswald was a quiet but easy going, but he was taken by another and then there was the whole reason why she was in this mess anyway. But I have to say it was an enjoyable read.
