personality:
Sage has always been a bright and outgoing character, she looks towards the bright side of life, while she does have painful thoughts that take her back to a dark time. to her those are in the past, for the most part, and she won't let them get in her way of the constant fight between the Aegis and Venators. her fierce and fighter personality keeps her going strong and she looks to bring up others during battle. she is afraid to acknowledge her fear, her doubts and her insecurities, but she tries her best to be brave and courageous; keeping a brave face for others. when she was younger, Sage always got distracted and even as a 17 year-old this trait still hasn't dissappeared. her curiosity is the source of this and for her everythings is interesting and catches her attention. most of the aegis find this and her stubbornness to be the most difficult parts of her personality, when her mind is set on something she rarely backs down or puts it off. if she wants it done she will either find someone to do it, only if she can't, but even then she'll do it herself whether or not she should or shouldn't. Sage struggles with body image issues and self-confidence, along with insomnia. her insomina is a side of her she doesn't like to admit and she brushes it off to others as she is an early bird. but as a result she is easily irritated from constant lack of sleep, and has a quick temper.

What lovely weather we're having, sure it's pouring. . . but it's better than a hurricane!
history:
Sage held out her arms, letting the wind of the cliffs hold her from falling into the ocean, her curly blonde hair blowing with the wind.
"There's my girl!" strong hands lifted her by the waist.
"Hey, not fair!" "I was having fun," the seven year-old protested.
Her father lifted her onto his shoulder, pure white wings folded against his back, her own wings were fluffed out of fright. The man holding her had blonde curly hair, bright blue eyes and was lean but strong.
"Don't drop her," a woman clicked her tongue behind them.
Sage's mother leaned up to kiss her husband on the cheek, her cheeks rosy from the cold of the ocean breeze, arms crossed and her body covered by a warm blanket; wings outlined beneath the waven pattern.
"Now why would I do that?" "She's my baby girl," he teased, but pulled her closer to him.
"Daddy would never drop me," Sage replied with confidence,
"You sure?" her father asked,
"Positive!"
With a flick of his wings, Sage fell forward, but was caught in the arms of her father. Who laughed at her wide eyes and her mother just shook her head with dismay, but a smile lit up her pale face. This was where Sage belonged, in the arms of her father, in the smile of her mother and happiness as far as the eyes could see.
"Come," "We have to practice your flying," Rayla set the blanket on the grass, and spread her wings.
She was gorgeous, her white wings glowed with the evening sun, and her blonde frizzy hair made it appear as if a halo surrounded her head. Jumping from the cliff's edge, she let the wind take hold and motioned for her daughter and Ruben to follow. Setting down his daughter Ruben followed his wife's lead and jumped off the cliff, his own wings caught by the windy drafts.
Sage looked over the edge of the cliff, watching her parents and the gracefulness of their flight, they were like two beautiful birds dancing together to a love symphony unheard by everyone; but them. She opened up her own wings, the small white feathers soft like a newborns skin. Jumping she joined them, her wings flapping rapidly to keep up with them, as she wasn't strong enough to keep up. A black spot in the distance caught her eye, and she decided to investigate, her mother noticing this rushed to catch her. Her expression paler than before and horror plastered across her face, they were quite a way off shore now and the black spot had formed into the outline of a ship.
"We need to go," Rayla urged,
"But why mommy?" Sage fought to get out of her grasp.
The female avian, had to beat her wings with more effort to stay in the sky with her daughter fighting to get closer to danger she didn't know.
"Ruben!" "Hurry!" she yelled.
"My little Gigi," "Now is not the time to fight your mother," he scolded, but his tone was also layered with a hint of fear.
Sage looked between her parents, no longer fighting, something was wrong she could see it in their faces. The three flew towards the cliffs, when an arrow flew through the sky hitting her father at the joint in his wing. He let out a pained cry, falling towards the ocean, his body unable to stay in the sky. His daughter looked over her shoulder in horror at his white form hitting the water, but not surfacing.
Rayla grabbed her daughter and flew faster than she could ever imagine, tears rolling down her face as she husband was surely dead.
"Wer'e almost there," she choked on tears and a lump in her throat.
"Mommy-" Sage began to cry.
Another arrow struck, but this time it hit Rayla, and she threw her daughter to the cliff's edge. Casusing her to roll and tumble onto the grass that had once felt soft and gentle, but now flew like thorns on her skin. She pushed herself up and rushed to the side of the cliff, on her hands and knees she looked over the edge, her mother's body at the bottom. Blood covering the rocks. The blanket with it's woven pattern rested on the ground a few feet away and she ran over to it crying, her face red and swollen, her heart pounding in her ears. Grabbing her mother's possession she stuffed her face into the fabric and breathed in her mother's smell, wrapping herself in the last bit of warmth.

Caledonia stands tall at 5' 11", and cuts an imposing figure with muscle and height. She has high cheekbones, sharp blue eyes, a thinner nose, longer face, and shorter, dark brown hair that she often pulls back to get out of her face. She has multiple scars that she hides all over her body, especially her hands, her back, and her stomach, while she has some burn scars along her arms as well.
Personality: Caledonia is a very angry person, carrying around a lot of rage and hatred in her heart, years and years that have been built up. She is not someone who expresses many emotions aside from her rage, which she is not the greatest at holding in, and is quick to turn to. She does not know how to deal with other emotions in herself or other people well, and tends to hide how she feels if she can, anger aside.
She's also a bitter person, holds grudges, and can be snappy and sarcastic to people if she thinks they deserve it or if she's in the right mood. Caledonia walks around with a confident demeanor--almost always with her chin lifted, spine straightened, and shoulders back, but inside, deep down, she's insecure as well as in grief.
Despite all of this, Caledonia is a very loyal person to those she loves and cares about, which over the course of her life have not been many people, but those she does love have her for life unless they betray her. She doesn't trust easily at all and has reasons to be hurt and suspicious of almost everyone she comes across. The brunette also has a moral compass--she's not above yelling and punishing people, but she does not believe Zushenians should be hunted and killed, and is disgusted by the way the Venators treat them. Her moral compass usually extends to a hatred of killing, but she will kill in self defense and has done so before, as well as in defense of her loved ones or an innocent Zushenian or person. And if she's enraged, her judgement may snap.
When she's not in a bad place mentally (as she suffers from depression and PTSD as well as is in deep grief), she's a strong leader, capable of guiding, training, and leading others in Aegis. She is a commanding person with a commanding personality and has the ability to stay calm in emergency situations for the most part--she's clever and cunning when she wants to be, as well, and is not afraid to stand up for herself or what she believes in, or others who need it, including the Zushenians. Her level of respect for people depends on their actions and she doesn't believe respect is a given. To her, it must be earned.
History: Caledonia was born to two hunter parents in Venator. Her mother suffered complications during her birth and died soon after, leaving her grieving husband behind, who died a week later from not eating, depression, and grief. Their baby daughter was raised for seven years by her mother's sister and her husband, Cal's aunt and uncle. However, her aunt and uncle blamed the child for the death of her parents, her aunt's sister, and they never let her forget that, and what they believed to be a mistake--they believed the kid should have died instead. So, Cal grew up abused and neglected for those years, mostly neglected without food or sufficient clothing.
At seven, she also realized that she hated the Venators--they were letting her guardians get away with this treatment, while also, she was sickened and disgusted by the way the Zushenians were treated, by what she would have to do one day. Which of course got her labeled as weak, too, and stupid. So Caledonia, at seven, decided she had enough, and the child ran off, leaving the Venators one night with nothing but a stuffed cat and a bag of ratty clothes. She was traumatized and almost died in the woods, but upon almost her deathbed, she was found by Katarina Hayden, Aegis's captain at the time.
Katarina immediately took the child in, and Caledonia, in her fevered state, mumbled that she'd run away from Venator and begged not to be taken back. Katarina never had doubts about the truth of her words, seeing how genuinely touch averse and yet clingy and traumatized the child was. How distrustful. But over the next year Katarina won her trust and her love, and the two became so close as mother and daughter, and Caledonia loved her mom to no end.
But her adopted father, James Laughlin, was a different story. He hated the child because he had been best friends with her deceased father, as a Venator spy, and because he knew the secret Katarina and Caledonia kept—that she wasn’t born in Aegis and that she hadn’t been from a common town. The only reason he kept it was because he was slightly in love with Katarina, despite his twisted views.
Caledonia, while loved by her mother, was thus mistreated for years by her father, who hid what he did and forced her to not tell her mother by threatening her mother's life. He also never approved of her powers and who she fell in love with, and always reminded her of that and the fact he had never wanted her and that she was born in Venator, calling her a "bad person" whenever they were alone and mainly her feel like she had sins to atone for.
Thus, Caledonia was silent about the abuse at his hands. She was also bullied by some of the kids, because she was the new kid and didn’t belong--they saw her as some outsider, despite the Aegis community supposed to be one to defended and protected. Not all the kids bullied her, of course, but enough to where Cal grew silenter and colder, and she was always distrustful and didn't know how to make friends. Alianna, a Venator spy--who only Cal's father knew the true identity of--was the worst of all. They were also jealous because Cal, who worked hard to be someone strong so she could protect the Zushenians and people the Venators show down--to make herself better--became a really strong Aegis member as she grew older. She became, as she grew, physically strong when using her fists as well as a sword, though she could never mastery archery super well, and knives freaked her out from when she saw Zushenians cut open as a kid.
But she did gain abilities, being one of the ones born with magic--as while she was born in Venator, her ancestors had been from Aegis, like, a few generations pre-her parents. Cal realized she had earth and vibration manipulation abilities.
When Cal was about nine, her mother became the next leader of Aegis, which just gained the child more bullying--they hated that she was so good at what she did and began to try and take her down a notch, so the bullying intensified. She was also ten when she had her first crush, twelve when Alianna found out about one of her crushes, twelve when she was bullied for it, fifteen when her father began to hate her for it, sixteen when she fell in love for the first time with another Aegis girl, who she ended up on a lot of missions with...and who she had found a rare friend in. She was sixteen when she started dating her, and for awhile, Cal was happier--she was in love with this girl, and life was better because of it. She kept the relationship a secret because of her dad's hatred of her, but her mother knew, and was supportive. Cal was close to her mom, always had been.
But when Caledonia was eighteen, her father found out about her girlfriend, and he forced her to break up with the girl after he made Cal never forget how upset he was about this.
Two months later came the worst blow, though. One night, when Caledonia was alone and working on some Aegis paperwork for her mother, her father snuck into the office and tried to kill her, revealing his connection to Venator the whole time. She was horrified, and the two ended up in a vicious fight that her father was about to win--as Caledonia was injured going into the fight--before the commotion woke up her mother, who ended up stepping in front of her daughter and taking a killing arrow to the chest. In her rage, Caledonia crippled her father, almost killing him, but he managed to knock her out and vanish from Aegis before anyone else could get on him.
And when Caledonia woke up, in rage and grief, Katarina was about to die. She named Caledonia as the next Aegis leader at only eighteen, and then died, leaving Caledonia blaming herself for her mother's death, in utter grief, rage, shock, and horror. But her former girlfriend, who had been hurt by Caledonia's sudden rejection, still cared about her and came through for her, and as Cal finally came clean about her father, the two rekindled their relationship. Cal handed off the leadership to her girlfriend, too in grief to lead.
It took her two years to get her head back on her shoulders, though she's still in grief to this day, even seven years after her mother's death. While she blames her father, she also blames herself, but she's determined to lead Aegis best she can and change the bad parts of it and enhance the good.
To help protect the Zushenians who need them, and to help Aegis stay strong, stay together, and work together. She never wants to feel weak again and never wants anyone else to feel that either. She sees Zuushenians as people, as creatures, who need and deserve protection and the right to live their lives in peace and won't stop until they're safe and all Venators are stopped...or dead. Because she had personal vendettas against them, too. She's been leading Aegis for five years now despite not everyone agreeing with her.

Personality
Kalil has a very strong moral compass. He hates killing others or watching others being killed. He’s very protective of those he cares about. He’s also incredibly loyal and would never consider betraying those he trusts and is loyal to. He’s alert, though he’s paranoid. He is always suspicious of people he doesn’t know well or at all. He’s selfless, and would do anything for the people he cares about. Despite his loyal demeanor he has a very difficult time trusting others, due to his childhood trauma. He doesn’t open himself up to many people and constantly has his guard up. He only opens up to people he trusts the most. Kalil suffers from anxiety, depression, and c-PTSD. He has nightmares, panic attacks, and flashbacks.
Kalil is very empathetic, and cannot stand another’s pain, whether they’re a friend or stranger. He cannot stand other people being tortured. He believes it’s sadistic, cruel, and inhumane. He believes torturing someone is worse than killing them. He can be partially self-destructive, which leads him into grave danger. This behavior is partially due to his mentality of believing his life isn’t worth another’s. He doesn’t believe he deserves to be protected.
Kalil comes off cold and emotionless, but this is due to him pushing away everyone he comes into contact with, even sometimes his family. He acts cold as a deterrent for people and as a coping mechanism. He constantly wears a mask. When Kalil is in emotional pain, he shuts out the world completely. He doesn’t speak much, and if he does, he speaks very curtly.
Kalil believes everyone should hate him. He doesn’t feel as if he is worthy of love, or sometimes even life. He has very low self-esteem, believing that he can’t do anything right and that everything is his fault. Kalil has a habit of bottling his emotions, due to being unable to express his feelings around his father for fear of torture and punishment. This causes friction between him and the people he cares about.
Despite his “soft” persona, he is capable of cruelty and mercilessness if he is pushed too far, though he tries to suppress those emotions and actions. To others he comes off as callous, reserved, distant, and quiet. Kalil hates being vulnerable, believing it makes him weak. Instead, he tries to be as emotionless as possible. Kalil loves working with his hands and enjoys sculpting and gardening. He would love to eventually get a job designing shields and armor. He wouldn't design weapons because he'd rather make items that protect, not harm.
Kalil has a complicated relationship with his older brother. He loves him, but he also resents him. He kind of sees Olisi as his rival. This behavior is usually due to the way Kalil's father treats him. He often tells the boy that Olisi is a better son than he is--that Olisi is better than he is. When his mother was alive, she would be a shield that would help him to not resent his brother.
But with her gone, there's no one to reason with him, as Amira and Olisi don't know why he dislikes his brother. This leads him to resent his older brother for being their father's 'perfect son'.
History
Kalil was born in Aegis to Zeion Calix and Xenia Yorin.
He was their second born child. Two years later his younger sister, Amira Yorin, was born. He found out from a young age that his father hated him. The first time his father hit him, he was five winters old.
His father refused to treat him with kindness. When his mother was alive, he would constantly abuse him, though not as severely.
After his mother died, he fell into a deep depression. He believed her death was solely his fault. He began having recurring nightmares, mostly centered on his abuse and mother’s death.
When he was thirteen winters old, he went to his sister’s room to see her, only to find the door locked. Knowing something was wrong (his sister never locks her door), he picked the lock and opened the door to find his father about to assault his sister, who was ten at the time. He saved her before anything happened.
Afterward, he confronted his father. He told him that he would take punishments for his sister as long as his father didn’t touch her. He said he could torture him as much as he wanted, as long as his sister was left alone. His father agreed. From that moment on, Kalil was under the impression that Amira was safe, at least temporarily. His father broke the agreement numerous times.
He pondered taking his life many times over the years, but never acted on it. He believed he was better off dead. He didn’t think anyone would miss him, not even Amira. However, he never acted on it, knowing he couldn't leave his sister at the mercy of their father.
His father would order him to kill people. These deaths were later seen as accidents, due to his father forcing him to kill using his water abilities. He would often force the boy to drown the people he wanted dead, then, in the dead of night when no one could see, he'd toss their bodies in a nearby body of water to eliminate the evidence. Because of this, Kalil is incredibly traumatized and hates using his abilities. This is also why he doesn't befriend others and why he doesn't open himself up to many people.
Two years ago, when he was fifteen, he fell in love with a girl against his better judgement. He dated her at her insistence, though he wanted to date her as well. They kept their relationship a secret. Amira and Olisi knew about this relationship, but, not wanting Kalil to get in trouble, the siblings didn't speak a word of it. But his father caught the couple one day, finding the way Kalil disappeared into the Aegis village suspicious. He ordered Kalil to kill her. He's afraid of falling in love and dating because of this.
After his mother's death, his father scarred his left shoulder, inflicting the wound with poison so Kalil would suffer for the rest of his life.
Recently, Kalil's father crippled him after the boy tried to escape in the middle of the night. But Aegis doesn't know this. Aegis members were told Kalil was disabled due to a Venator attack in the middle of the night. Some believed it. Others did not. Kalil now walks with a cane because of it, something he didn't need before. Because of how recent his injury was, he's still getting used to his new life.

Appearance
Kalil has shoulder length dark brown hair and stormy gray eyes. He has stormy gray eyes and tanned olive skin. He stands at roughly 5'11. He has dozens of scars on his arms that he hides by wearing long sleeves, as well as other scars on his legs and back. He has shoulder length hair to hide a scar he has that wraps around his right ear that stretches to his collarbone. He's got a medium build and is slightly muscular. He has long, lean hands that are also covered in scars, which leads him to wear gloves when he's around others. He has nine scars on the underside of his right arm that spell out "worthless" which he got from his father.
His largest scar is on the upper left side of his back, near his shoulder blade. It was given to him by his father as a punishment for “murdering” his mother. It was made with a knife/dagger/sword doused with poison, making the scar look like a burn.

Distinguishing Features
When they can be seen, Kalil's most distinguishing features are his scars. Other than that, his eyes tend to be seen by others as piercing and dangerous, as well as emotionless.

Amira is very headstrong. She cares strongly for her friends and family. She has a strong moral compass, only killing people if she or someone she cares about is in danger. She’s also very stubborn and never lets anyone change her opinion.
She’s against torture and murder. She dislikes untrustworthy people, but despite this, she’s capable of deceit if someone she cares about is in danger.
Amira will always stand up for people and the ones she cares about. She’s not afraid to speak her mind. She doesn’t tolerate hatred or insults of any kind. She’s protective of anyone she sees who is being bullied or taken advantage of. She’s an ambivert. She’s fiercely protective of her older brothers and will instantly stick up for then whenever she feels someone has stepped out of line.
Overall, Amira is very sweet. She can come across as harmless and innocent due to her height and voice, but she's anything but. She is very secretive and calm. Most of the time, people can't figure out her true motives.
History
Amira was born in Aegis to Zeion Calix and Xenia Yorin. She's the youngest of three. Because of that, she's always been treated as the baby of the family. She's also the only daughter in her family. From a young age, she saw her older brother, Kalil, being abused. She got used to this treatment. She also saw her mother be abused by her father and overall harbors resentment toward him.
She was very close to her mother growing up. Being the only girl, she often related more to her mother than her brothers and father. The woman often treated her kids like royalty. She was a very good mother, never wanting harm to befall them. And she often tried to protect her kids as much as she could.
When Amira was nine, she watched as Kalil killed their mother, upon their father's instruction/threats. After her mother's death, she watched as her two brothers grew distant. This change wasn't immediate, but gradual. Her two brothers used to be the best of friends, brothers until the end. Kalil, for whatever reason, began resenting Olisi, the two siblings' eldest brother. Because of their distant relationship, Amira often acts as an intermediary. The two have never had any extreme arguments in front of Amira or anything like that. Kalil predominantly just ignores Olisi.
She isn't abused as heavily as her brothers, but that isn't to say that she's treated well either, or that she's less traumatized because of everything. She's often ignored and neglected by her father. She's also been used to threaten and coerce her brothers into following the orders of their father.

Personality
Olisi is kind. He’s incredibly loyal and wise. He loves his siblings and wishes to protect them from harm. Olisi can be subservient, especially around his father as well as apathetic. He can be cynical and devious, but he’s very nurturing and supportive. Olisi is more like his father than his younger brother Kalil is, but he’s not as ruthless, merciless, or cruel. He knows the value of human life and will never kill unless it’s necessary.
He’s not the kind of person to walk over others to get what he wants. He doesn’t desire power or wealth. He doesn’t want to be feared. He mostly just wants to be left alone to live his life as he’s a very withdrawn person. He’s a natural leader. He’s good at diplomacy. He knows what to say to make other people believe him. He’s good at swaying others in certain directions. He’s idealistic and intelligent.
He's afraid of his father, (view spoiler). He considers himself a coward, when he is actually a very brave person.
Olisi prefers to live in the moment. He lives for today. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Every day is a new day, and everyday he tries to be a better, braver person than he was the day before.
History
Olisi was born in Aegis to Zeion Calix and Xenia Yorin. He’s the eldest of three. His father abused him from a young age. However, he's always been abused more discreetly than his younger siblings. His father likes to use Olisi's personality and attitude to abuse his kids, so Olisi is often treated as if he's the lone child who isn't abused. However, this isn't true. When he was about fourteen, he realized he was an aromantic asexual person.* He has never felt romantic or sexual attraction toward anyone, no matter their gender or personality. He's solely not interested and can't feel anything for them.
Not long after finding out he was asexual, he watched his mother die by his younger brother's hand. To this day, he doesn't blame Kalil for what happened, instead blaming their father for everything they've all been through.

Zeion is a cruel, sadistic person, but he wasn’t always ruthless and bloodthirsty.
As a boy he enjoyed exploring nature. He was always fascinated by the world around him. He was a curious child with a penchant for mischief.
He was kind to other people. The main shift in his personality came when he was in his early twenties. He determined that people took advantage of kindness and used it for their own selfish gain. After his father was murdered, he concluded that fear was a better way to keep people in their place. Kindness didn’t work as that was something people took for granted and wanted to use. From that moment on, he saw kindness as weak.
Zeion has always been ambitious and charismatic. He is manipulative and knows how to get his way. He can be kind to others, but most times his kindness isn’t genuine. He's good at acting.
He's abusive to his children. He was also abusive to his wife when she was alive. He abuses all three of his kids in different ways. He abuses his eldest son by (view spoiler) emotionally abusing him. He abuses his second-born child by physically and emotionally abusing him. He abuses his third-born, only daughter by neglecting her and using her to abuse his sons.
To the rest of Aegis, he acts like a kind and loving father. He 'spoils' his kids in public. However, he's really not kind to his kids. He uses blackmail and threats to get them to act as if they are a loving family in public. But when alone, he abuses his children harshly, threatening them so they won't tell anyone.
Underneath his arrogant facade, he hides insecurity and self-doubt.
History
Zeion was born to Saban Calix and Onya Walric. His father was originally Venator, while his mother was Aegis. His mother died giving birth to him. His father used to abuse Zeion and was genuinely kind to everyone else. Zeion's father was killed by a Venator hunter when he was in his twenties. His father tried to bargain for his life using kindness. It didn't work. From that day on, Zeion decided to only use kindness for his own selfish gain, as that was what the Venator hunter did when they killed his father. He wasn't able to break his family's cycle of abuse, only getting worse. He abuses his kids more harshly and extremely than his father ever abused him.

Caledonia is very angry, carrying around a lot of rage and hatred in her heart, years and years that have been built up. She is not someone who expresses emotions aside from her rage, which she is not the greatest at holding in, and is quick to turn to. She does not know how to deal with other emotions in herself or other people, and tends to hide how she feels if she can.
She's also bitter, holds grudges, and can be snappy and sarcastic to people if she thinks they deserve it or if she's in the right mood. Caledonia walks around with a confident demeanor--always with her chin lifted, spine straightened, and shoulders back, but deep down, she's insecure and in grief.
Despite all of this, Caledonia is loyal to those she loves and cares about, which over the course of her life have not been many people, but those she does love have her for life unless they betray her. She doesn't trust easily at all and has reasons to be hurt and suspicious of almost everyone she comes across. The brunette also has a moral compass--she's not above yelling and punishing people, but she does not believe Zushenians should be hunted and killed, and is disgusted by the way the Venators treat them. Her moral compass usually extends to a hatred of killing, but she will kill in self defense and has done so before, as well as in defense of her loved ones or an innocent Zushenian or person. And if she's enraged, her judgement may snap.
When she's not in a bad place mentally, she's a strong leader, capable of guiding, training, and leading others in Aegis. She is a commanding person with a commanding personality and has the ability to stay calm in emergency situations for the most part--she's clever and cunning when she wants to be, as well, and is not afraid to stand up for herself or what she believes in, or others who need it, including the Zushenians. Her level of respect for people depends on their actions and she doesn't believe respect is a given. To her, it must be earned. Very distrustful.

Isabella is very kind. She is a very bubbly girl who is almost always positive. However, she is also capable of being very sad. She is caring and always wants to help others. She's very intelligent for a 3 year old, and is intellectually more advanced than most children her age. History
Isabella was born in Aegis, however she wasn't born on the island base. She and her parents had been recently trying to relocate to Aegis's main base, where they wanted their daughter to grow up. But on their way there, they were attacked by a Venator woman, an enemy of Isabella's mother. Her parents were killed during the attack, and the girl was almost killed by the woman as well. The woman attacked the girl with a sword, cutting her face and her abdomen (to be roleplayed probably). The girl was left alone by the woman to bleed out, starve, and dehydrate. The girl stayed there for a couple minutes, trying to "wake up" her parents. When they didn't wake, the girl got up the strength to run for help. After all, that's what her parents had taught her to do in an emergency. So she ran, ending up venturing near the Aegis base as she and her parents weren't that far away. They had already flown by dragon and were on the last leg of the trip.

Allir is kind, though authoritative. He's a natural leader. He has a strong sense of duty and loves protecting others. He's one of the few members under Caledonia's lead that doesn't doubt her abilities. Rather, he trusts her like he trusted her mother. He's typically a calm voice of reason. However, despite his calm, caring, and kind demeanor, he is very serious and can get very stern, sometimes even rude if the situation calls for it. There are certain crimes that set him off the most. Those crimes are murder, assault, and child abuse. Theft doesn't faze him much, nor do other crimes. But murder of an innocent person or child….that crosses a line.
Allir is also fatherly. He loves his son dearly, being his only child. He's determined. He's distrusting of those he doesn't know well. He's suspicious of almost anyone. Overall though he's very honorable.
He is very engrossed in his job though. He's a workaholic and will often overwork himself because of "the greater good". He isn't so engrossed in his work that he ignores his son though. He's also stoic and is known for downplaying his injuries.
History
Allir was born in Aegis. From a young age he knew he wanted to help and protect others. He worked hard as a kid, fighting for the position he wanted.
When he was about 22, he met Kheris Astulma. The two immediately began a friendship, then a relationship soon after. After a few years of dating, the two got married. Prior to Allir becoming Aegis captain, the two were married. When Allir got the job though, Kheris told him to make a choice. Her or him being the captain. He couldn't have both. Not because Kheris didn't want him to have a job, no. She wanted him to choose because her family was killed by a Zushenian, and she has disliked them ever since.
When Allir said he wasn't willing to quit because he wanted to protect innocent people, and he didn't want to punish all Zushenians for the actions of one, Kheris divorced and left him. She abandoned her only son, leaving him with Allir, knowing he could provide a better life for him than she could.
Allir hasn't been the same since. He misses his wife, wishing she still lived with him and wishing she hadn't left Kadiri. But ultimately, he doesn't regret his decision. He'd make the same decision again.
He became the Aegis captain during the lead of Caledonia's mother. And, from what he understands, Caledonia kept him in the position after her mother's death because her mother trusted him.

Kadiri is protective and incredibly loyal. He follows the rules whenever possible and handles authority very well. He can be a bit merciless and reckless if someone he cares about is harmed, but he's mostly a calm, collected person who will do anything to protect others, even if it's at a detriment to his life. He cares deeply and loves fiercely. He's very serious, but he likes joking around.
His personality is very much like his father's. However, the boy has slight anger issues, a trait he got from his mother. Like his father he is very blunt.
He considers his father his role model and wants to be just like him. He loves helping Aegis however he can and will sometimes volunteer around the village.
History
Kadiri was born to Allir Hylris and Kheris Astulma. His mother left when he was about 1 year old, after his father became an Aegis soldier. He doesn't have much of a memory of her. He doesn't even remember what she looked like. Only that she abandoned him and his father.
He grew up in the village, away from his father due to his father wanting him to be protected and safe. And he also didn't have time or knowledge to take care of a newborn. So he left the job to some of the villagers, who took him gladly. He still saw his father often though.
His father was there for every major day in Kadiri's life growing up. Birthdays and any other important days.
When he was about 6 years old, he met Amira Yorin. She was 5 at the time and had been dropped off with the healers so her father could keep the abuse of her brothers secret from her. She didn't know this at the time. The two began to play together and became friends. She often sneaks out of her house to see him. Because he looks up to his father, he likes sparring. So when he and Amira are together, they often spar with wooden swords that his father gifted to them.
Kadiri and Amira became best friends. And within the last year or so, he has begun to realize that he has a crush on Amira and really likes her.

Avaliyah is a direct individual who doesn’t always hesitate to tell another person what’s on her mind if she’s comfortable around someone. She’s headstrong, but very shy and anxious around everyone, unless she knows and trusts a person. It’s hard for her to get over her shyness, and she’s always had a tendency to hide behind her parents. This said, she’s very caring and has a mind to help others and be there for her loved ones. Despite her shyness, and anxiety, when she’s in a good mood and with people she loves, or is happy, Avaliyah is a bit of a thrill seeker, an adrenaline junkie, often taking risks because she feels like it.
That said, Avaliyah is also very sensitive and takes things too personally at times. She struggles with a lot of anxiety and OCD, so she has instructive thoughts that have bothered her for years while her anxiety tends to get the best of her at times. It manifests itself in her social contexts and some health anxiety, hence why she also takes to healing—so she can face that and know the facts for wounds before her brain jumps to bad conclusions.
As she’s sensitive, though, she has moments when she doesn’t have the guts to always stand up for herself. She can at times, but her social anxiety can be so bad even if she wants to. She’s better standing up for a friend, as Vali cares a lot for her family.
Avaliyah also doesn’t put up with a lot of garbage. When she has friendships and relationships she wants to last, she’s as honest as possible, even if it means making herself vulnerable, which scares her, but she wants to do it. She’s very direct in relationships, and quite a braver person around her family and friends—able to talk to them as if she’s bolder and just slide herself into conversations. She has a hint of rebelliousness inside her, but she’s also genuinely socially anxious and shy, though she wants to meet people but is scared of being judged. So around her family and friends she’s much more talkative, though she does come to life when she’s excited about something and will more eagerly join in conversation. She’s a romantic and cries at romance novels, and is very sensitive and emotional.
History (WIP)
Avaliyah was born in Aegis, but her father died in a fight with the Venators when she was seven, which broke her heart since she’d been so close to her father. He’d been a gentle man who helped in the healer’s rooms a lot simply because he abhorred violence and bloodshed and the Venators. He had been someone always working to help Zushenians and his fellow human beings, and Vali, after his death, found that she wanted to try and carry on his good deeds. She ended up in the healer’s a lot, helping, but she didn’t share his pacifism.
Besides, after her fathers death, the girl needed a release of her sadness and anger, so she began to train to fight, too. While she never had a head for revenge—not as bad as some could anyway—she did find it her duty to help defeat the people who hurt so many and killed her father. She also stayed helping healer’s in the infirmary because of her anxiety over health and wounds; it helped her work though it some while allowing her to have more facts.
Vali had always wanted to help, and she’d often conflicted a bit with her father who had wanted her out of training, simply because he was worried about losing her. But Vali finally did it anyway because it felt right to her. Her mother supported her decision, as she was a fighter in Aegis, also, but had thought Vali was too young before, though now she let her.
So, Avaliyah began her training, and she found out later that at age ten, a few months after her fathers death, she had magic: she could manipulate and control water and create storms, and it was something that freaked her out at first because she couldn’t control it. But it would be so useful, and Avaliyah overtime learned to control it, and she learned to love it, too. She also was a pretty friendly person when comfortable around someone, but the issue was that Avaliyah struggled with shyness and social anxiety—and anxiety in general. But, as someone who couldn’t handle injustice, she wanted to help Zushenians and other Aegis, and one thing that pushed her out of her comfort zone was seeing the new kid, Captain Hayden’s adopted daughter, be shunned and bullied among some of the Aegis kids—they’d shove her, make fun of her, steal her things, not let her play with them. It broke Vali’s sensitive heart.
So, Avaliyah worked up the courage to go talk to her one day, sitting with her after she’d been pushed out of playing a game with the others when she was eight. Overtime, Vali found herself liking Caledonia, as the girl, when she finally seemed to trust that Avaliyah had no ill will towards her, opened up. A bit. Vali saw hints of someone with a sense of humor, a moral compass, but also someone who had been hurt most of her life. But overtime, Vali was able to make her laugh, and eventually earned more of her trust when Vali never stopped being her friend even when others began to bully Vali for befriending "the new freak girl".
Vali was twelve when she had her first crush, Braylon, another Aegis kid, and fifteen when her crush ended and one started on her best friend. Vali had kind of an identity crisis. She had believed she was straight, and was terrified when she began to fall in love with Caledonia. But soon after a talk with her mother and younger brother, who had always been supportive, Vali came to accept her bisexuality. Her crush grew and grew until she was hopelessly in love. And she was shocked when it came to a head, when Caledonia one day leaned over and kissed her, when she was sixteen.
They talked about it and decided to date in secret. Vali was overjoyed, and her mother was happy for her. As was Caledonia's mother, and things were good until Vali was eighteen. One night she had been in love, and Cal was telling her she loved her. The next day, Cal stated they were done and that she'd never cared about her.
Vali was heartbroken, and it wasn't until two months later when she heard of Commander Katarina Hayden's murder by her husband, James Laughlin, and checked in on Cal--who she never stopped caring about--that she learned from Cal that James had forced her to break up with her. And that Cal had been abused all her life from James. Vali was enraged, but the two rekindled a relationship. They've been dating steadily since then, still in secret because Cal doesn't want to lose Vali to a potential spy in Aegis.
Avaliyah is the calm to Caledonia's anger, whereas Cal helped her through her identity crisis and helps her through her anxiety. They balance each other out, Cal standing up for Vali and helping her find her voice, and Vali being one of the only ones to be able to calm the Aegis leader down.
When Avaliyah was twenty-three, though, she suffered another familial loss--her younger brother was killed by a Venator when he was out with a hunting party to get Aegis more food. She is still also in grief, and she's heartbroken here, too, and is afraid to lose Cal as Cal is to lose her.
