Period English Ghost story, about a nanny whom we later learn was a ghost. Was turned into wonderful English TV movie.. I saw the movie in 2020, but it was 10 years old, I'm guessing.

Have a devil of a puzzle. I saw a simply wonderful little English period movie (set in 1918 Britain), about a pretty governess who arrives at an affluent English family's house. -May have been a TV movie from last 15 years.- I think she is turned away, for some reason, and the father of the family, then searches for her (out of guilt?), and discovers she'd been killed months before... I think she was pregnant and shunned by her family and her beau was recently killed in the war.. It was not The Turn of the Screw, but redolent of that. Would love to know the title of the book film was based upon. Peace!
