Carolyn Dismuke | 1 comments How about Drink Your Words about how I lived in a different California wine region every month for 2 years? It's more of an adventure travel book than memoir although it does include salty insights of a solo traveler.

Michael Bowers | 18 comments Captured by COVID: Deceit, Conspiracy & Death—A True Story

I might be a bit bias, but I recommend Captured by COVID. This book will take you on an emotional ride that is sure to keep your attention. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Captured by COVID is a true story that describes actual events experienced by the author. What started out as a hospital admission due to COVID evolved into a series of unimaginable events. The details of torture, abandonment, and betrayal are real.

Love those books listed.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak I read years ago with my daughter when she was 12 for her Reading Class. I loved it so much, started getting a couple of Unique Covers. Love all the Quotes from that book.

Hi,
I quite enjoyed these books (kisses, hugs are mentioned, but there are no graphic descriptions):

Fantasy:
The Caraval series by Stephanie Garber and the Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson. Kisses and hugs are included, undressing is mentioned but that's it. No steamy descriptions.
Also the Izara series by Julia Dippel (Belial excluded as it includes very steamy scenes). The Cassardim series reminds me a little bit of ACOTAR by SMJ. It does include intimate scenes with dialogues but the descriptions are not graphic.
I'd recommend also some books by Emily Bold, e.g. the Stolen series, but I did not find them in English (I read them in German). I can't remember how intense some romantic scenes in the series Silver wings were, but I think they were not too graphic.
Thorn by Intisar Khanani includes zero romantic/intimate scenes though some scenes may trigger some emotions due the included violence. There is a also the free short story the Bone Knife.

Science Fiction: Chaos walking series by Patrick Ness. No intimate scenes at all except for hugs.

Hopefully there's something for you, you'll enjoy!

message 35: by Deena (new)

Deena Goldstein | 72 comments OK Little Bird - At some point, we all navigate the loss and grief of a loved one, uncertain how or if we can regain a sense of normalcy to our lives ever again.

OK, Little Bird is a virtual handbook, told through a memoir style, fast moving touching, laugh out loud and deeply feeling father daughter relationship. When you turn the last page, readers will find a way to feel whole again and inspired. OK, Little Bird

(wonderful book despite a cover I don't really like - so touching)

The Key to Circus-Mom Highway by Allyson Rice
(LOVED this fast fun read with heart and hilarious characters - great "beach read" book)

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
(really fun mystery - also with great characters)

Those last 2 books I could see in my head like a movie as I read them! I hope they're made into films at some point. I could recommend casts for both of them! Lol

It's a beautiful and funny love story set in Spain with engaging characters. I couldn't put it down and I finished it in just a few hours. Not cheesy, typical or predictable at all. It was a great surprise and I felt like I was leaving my friends behind
