How do Lucy and Nate deal with their jobs and people when they come off of suspension?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The bond of trust is broken for them with the San Antonio FBI office. They will need to tread very carefully and watch their backs. I think things will be really chilly in that office. They will need to keep it by the book, but where's the fun in that?

I said this earlier but I’ll bet Brennan’s trying to figure out where she goes next. This is a real problem.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments But Sean and Lucy love San Antonio. Sean has established a solid RCK business there and Lucy loves being an FBI agent, she may be rethinking that, but who knows.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9269 comments Mod
Oh, I don’t think they’re leaving San Antonio. I’m hoping Rachel will be given her walking papers. Abigail seemed to take her cues from her. It’s up to your boss to fight for you.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments That would be an acceptable outcome.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I don't know what is going to happen, but I think it will be interesting. I just wonder if it will happen in the next book or will there be more fallout from the San Antonio office not backing Lucy and Nate.

She’s got this series on pause right now. Not sure when the next one will be released.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments We still have a novella A Deeper Fear next month, right?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I'll be reading it, Anita. Well, after reading the blurb from the novella we're reading next month, it sounds like Sean and Lucy did not go their cabin in Colorado like we wished.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9269 comments Mod
Yes. I was referring to it being over a year and a half since she released a book in the series (January 2021). Normally she releases a full length book in the same year as a novella.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments There are one mystery books listed North of Nowhere to be published August 8, 2023 but no blurb is attached. Maybe this is another Lucy Kincaid book.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments There are no dates to these questions so I don't know when it was written or answered.

The Question: "I love Lucy and Sean, will there be more to the series?"

Allison responded: Hi Charlotte -- thank you! Right now I have none scheduled for this year. I had other projects and after writing the last book I needed a bit of a hiatus from the series. I'm hoping to have at least one out in 2022, but I'll definitely post on my website and facebook when I know more! Thanks for asking.

I checked the publisher’s website. No info there either but it’s also not tied to the Lucy books. But, that might be deliberate.

She began this series in 2011 and that’s a long time with a character. Even longer if you count the first time Lucy appeared in her books.

Coben took a five-year pause with Myron Bolitar to write standalones. I think they just need to clear the palate sometimes.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I can understand that. I'm going to move on to the Quinn & Costa series.

It’s a good one!
