Nice! I definitely took a break after creating the last meal so I can see if we can start or finish something else sometime today.

I wasn't able to complete both unfinished meals with my book. I did finish one of them. I started two other meals though. We have Frozen Curry, a Fish and chips (with or without vinegar I picked with), and a Special unfinished. I have some books that didn't have any food so I'll be doing some spell outs with those.
Meals finishedSalad x4
Coffee x13
Sandwich x5
Tea x4
Quiche x5
Fish and chips with vinegar x3
Curry x4
Pasta x4
Alcoholic Drink x3
Non alcoholic drink x3
Dessert x4
Monthly Special x4
Fish and Chips x1
Started a couple spell outs. I need a C to complete carrot. I saw there was another book for spell out but not sure of the characters. I used the author for an R but we still have one letter left. I also started a spell out of Salad.
Letters we need to complete spell outs:
C, S, L, and A

This week has been crazy work wise. I’ll be able to go through my books and recipes this weekend. I was supposed to be on call but was told that I had off. So yay.
I've started meals for my books. We have a started sandwich, curry, and fish and chips with vinegar.
I was reading over the question and answers and we want to make sure our descriptions are exciting and enticing to improve our rating. For future rounds our rating is going to determine our customers.
I am so bad at this!!!! Annalisa, if you have some creative descriptions in mind please feel free to edit them as you wish!

Ok so I finished the already started meals and added a few new as well. I used all the outstanding scavenger and spell it out books! We only need two more books for this round.
Woohooo! We ended up at 2nd place in the voting!Top 3 You're the hottest place in town this week and everyone wants to try your meals. Now is the time to think about what your niche market is looking for to maintain your popularity
Meals with the word "saffron", "truffle", or "caviar" in the text or title, or used as a spell-it-out will attract more adults for round 2

Yey! Congrats team time to search for book for round 2... lmao
I am currently replacing some of my <300+ pages books with Alaina's longer books to get more ingredients lol!
Charanya wrote: "I can do that!I've read about 6,7 books this round, tho I couldnt get around to updating them"
I updated them for you!
Round 1 Final Meals have been updated in the spreadsheet! We have a total of 136 finished meals for this round.
So sorry for dropping the ball everyone! It was end of fiscal year this month and I just got slammed work wise. I’ll definitely be able to keep everything more up to date moving forward. September is typically my busiest month and everything else is a breeze.
No worries Alaina! September was trial and error since we all were first timers in the challenge, I think we'll do much better in October now!
Round 1 Meals ServedWe had a total of 136 meals for 160 customers so 24 customers unfortunately left hungry.
We were able to serve all of 27 children, 31 teenagers and 29 adults. Meals were also served to 49 of 73 pensioners.
We don't have any leftovers, we also didn't use the 2 BOM meal swaps which will be carried over to round 2.
For Round 2, We should try and get all books with >301 page counts since we'll need atleast 180 meals judging by the customer count of round 1!
Round 2 Update:What a mess!!!
All those pensioners eating the special... and they brought along their grandkids!!
Your restaurants are a complete mess and instagramers and tik-tok-ers are getting ready to move on. The only way to keep adults coming back next month is to create items to keep children entertained and quiet!
Month 2 Special
Kids love chicken nuggets and waffle fries! This is your FRESH Special for month 2
◈ Chicken nuggets and waffle fries (chicken, bread or bread crumbs, salt, egg, flour, potato, oil
Must contain chicken, potato and oil.
Month 2 Bonuses
Use your spell-it-outs and scavenger hunts to find items to keep kids entertained. Think board games, crayons, toys, books, peg games, tablets, face painting, clowns.... use your imagination!!
You can find up to 20 items in total and these are listed as "FRESH BONUS" within your spreadsheet
Month 2 Customers
Your "look at the crowds" placing may impact the types of customers you receive more of for round 2. You can counteract this for round 2 and attract more adults by finding the special ingredients as per your placing. Details here:

All my recent books didn't reach 300 lmao I'll put them on ss at the end of the month if we still lack books to give space to higher pages books
My first read didn’t hit 300 either. I think we get more books this month so I think we should use everything we read to try and maximize the number of meals.
Yes, we should put everything on the ss for the moment atleast and if we go over 90 books, we'll start replacing shorter ones for 300+ pages!
Kira I was going over the meals so far. My reading of the rules is that a meal is either scavenger or spell it out. If spell out you would pick a word “sandwich” and spell that for your word. You would not have half a meal as spell out and half scavenger. Same goes for our books they should either be used for spell it out or scavenger but not both.
For scavenger books make sure you are checking for our words: caviar, saffron, and truffle. We will get more adults with meals that contain those words.
So far I haven’t found a single word in any of my books :((( but we’ll get more adults than the rest anyway because we placed second in “name and description” , I was thinking maybe we should make only 10 or something specials. Although they are 80 points for mere 3 ingredients, they also only feed children and will go to waste if we can’t find customers:(
Annalisa, I used your murderbot book for a different meal since we get 80 points for total of 20 games, it didn't seem wise to use 4 spell outs for a single game!
Kira wrote: "So far I haven’t found a single word in any of my books :((( but we’ll get more adults than the rest anyway because we placed second in “name and description” , I was thinking maybe we should make ..."I think we are all going to get a mix of customers. We want to make sure we have meals for children as well as adults. I don't think the meals for kids will go to waste.
No problem moving things around.
I have three books that have letters for Spell outs. I'm having trouble creating works so I'm going to post here characters that haven't been used for each so they can be fit in. I'll think about it some more but not coming up with anything tonight.Madness of the Horde King: (5 letters left)

We placed #5 after round 2 so4-7 Keep up the great work, but perhaps get a bit more creative in round 3 to increase popularity.
Meals with the word "prawns" (shrimp is acceptable), "cherry", or "gelato" in the text or title, or used as a spell-it-out will attract more adults for round 3
Hi Kira. Thanks for the update and all your doing to hold the team together. I was looking last night and saw we had a player who hadn’t posted in a while and was going to ask if anyone had heard from but I see you posted for a replacement already. Thank you!
Hi Annalisa! I realised we may not be able to complete our quota for this month and people were still requesting players so I went ahead and did it as well. I feel like we fell really short on the team aspect of this challenge sadly but as we know it, life happens and this is at the end only a challenge so..I hope all our team members are doing good.
Hi everyone, I'm excited to a be a part of this group! I've never done this challenge before and while the directions are pretty confusing, this looks like a lot of fun and I hope I can get the hang of it :)
I am absolutely horrible at the spell outs and I do not understand it. In case we need to fill in here is my book that isn't used yes. Taken by the Hoard King by Zoey Dvaven (Horde Kings of Dakkar #5)

I thought this would be a book with food but it isn't so here is another for spell outs.
