Like Dorothy and her friends, geocachers travel to new lands in search of adventure and treasure. Geocaching first began in May 2000, when President Clinton allowed civilians to use the GPS, or Global Positioning System. The first geocache was a Look for a black plastic bucket buried most of the way in the ground with a log book and stash such as: Delorme Topo USA software, videos, books, food, money, and a slingshot! You rarely find these things anymore. Today there are many different varieties of caches, including Events, Challenge caches (my personal favorite), Traditional, and Mystery caches, to name a few. This task celebrates Geocaching on its 20th anniversary year.
Select one option.
Required: State the option.
Option 1. Read a book first published in the year 2000.
Option 2. Read a book by a single author whose initials are found in GEOCACHING. (This must include all initials, and only as often as they appear in the word).
Option 3. Read a book whose title contains a word of 4 or more letters that can be made from the letters in Global Positioning System. For this task punctuation, such as an apostrophe or hyphen, may be added to create a word. Subtitles are excluded.
Required: State the word.
