Anya (elzbach) | 9 comments I’ve been listening to an audiobook of Little Women and found it pretty accessible, there isn’t really any complicated language that I’ve noticed. The audiobook I’ve been using is from 2000 and helps because the author does different voices for the characters, as there’s quite a lot of them.

Liza Jane (uh_lie_zuh) | 71 comments I've been wanting to get into classics as well, I'm starting with The Picture of Dorian Gray. I chose this because it looks like a fairly quick read, I also thought the premise sounded interesting.

j :p | 39 comments first, i’d suggest reading a few modern authors that have intricate writing styles to help adjust you to the literary devices and themes concept. authors like ottessa moshfegh, sally rooney, and m.l. rio. then, start with reading shorter classics as those are easier to get through. my recommendations are the bell jar, the death of ivan ilyich, rebecca, the virgin suicides, murder at the orient express, the outsider, the great gatsby, and frankenstein. once you get used to the language, my personal favourite classic authors are charlotte brontë and jane austen! i highly recommend jane eyre and pride and prejudice! good luck <3
