Set an a world where several family heads have the power. She works for a government agency helping stop rebel attacks. At one point her cousin ends up kidnapping her and she works for the rebel forces. She’s a nerd. She’s clumsy. She’s brilliant. She makes devices that focus the powers of people for self-defense and fighting and she’s brilliant at it. She ends up working for the sons of the main clans and there’s tension between them. At one point her apartment gets blown up. Her first love who can speak to spirits or see ghosts pushes her way to keep his family from hurting her and it breaks her heart. I can’t remember any of the main characters names except one of the guys may be blade? One of her friends she has never met so when the books starts they just play video games online together. He’s like her best friends. He meets her. He ends up having a half-sister that she becomes friends with. He is a highbrid and isn’t hiding because of his powers being feared or flying to a former evil person so politically he’s not really allowed to be out about his heritage.

I started reading this series when my chronic pain was really high which is why I don’t have any of the names in my memory and I cannot find the titles and left off on a cliffhanger and it’s been long enough that I’m sure the next book is out. I think the last when I read the cutest seeing guy found the warehouse of the rebels and he freed all the girls but that drained him so the other guy who was with him ended up getting both of them captured. And they lost their devices. And she ended up getting captured by her cousin and the uncle of one of the main clan leaders sons. And they are part of the rebel army. She works for the government entity like the CIA would be for Homeland security as a consultant and she goes down to head into the office having been called in only for it to be a trap which is how she gets captured.

Earlier in the series at one point her apartment gets blown up. Another of the main love interest might be Anthony? Not really sure. Sebastian might be the hybrid friend? Again very uncertain about names because of short-term to long-term memory issues from chronic pain.

Does this plot ring a bell for anyone? Several male love interests all from clan homes.
