I so often feel like snapping. This guy actually did it in a wonderfully shitty way. Good for him.
My AZ income tax refund came in pretty quickly. I kept checking the feds and nothing other than "accepted". I finaly got a letter last week. I had to prove I was me. Multiple authentication steps. Scan in my license/ID, which is from my prior house in AZ (before moving in with chef and before moving to WI). I filed my tax return with my current WI address. Then I had to complete myaddress. I debated for a long time and went with my old house. That worked. Then it wanted to know the last 4 of which bank account it was being deposited in. Some in one and some in another. I debated internally. Do I choose the one with the bigger deposit or the 1st one I listed on the return. I finally chose the 1st one. Correct choice again. So now I have proven someone else didn't file a fraudulent return. Interestingly, they check some of the info against the credit bureau info, which was updated with the WI property address when I bought it and again when I moved. All the data out there and the IRS couldn't recognize that I filed my return, that all the addresses from my house, to where I lived for the last 2 years when I filed, to the condo are all me.I know I need to get that new WI DL. In AZ, they don't expire until you are 65, so I have to do it before July, but I was procrastinating. Guess I should get on the ball soon and bit the bullet of the real ID process along with registering my cars, which requires I prove I paid sales tax in AZ or else WI makes me pay the sales tax all over again and they get to make more money off me.
On the plus side, i didn't have to talk to any agents, sit on a telephone line on hold, or go to an IRS office!
