This was my father's favourite book. I read it for the first time when I was 10, and have reread it periodically ever since (even in the original French). It's long, and somewhat convoluted.
I've read several of the longer books that are listed by GAR such as War and Peace & Don Quixote. I would like to try this at some point even though I know it will take me a while. I'm looking at reading the Robin Buss unabridged translation, have you read this one? Is there another translation you would recommend?
