Dakoda pulled her up onto the saddle with him. "Hold on." he grunted before kicking the horse with his heels, signaling the horse to run

message 202: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle held on tightly, having never ridden a horse before. She buried her face of his neck, shaking still.

message 203: by [deleted user] (new)

The castle got further and further away as they rode on. Dakoda took a glance back and could see fire on parts of the castle. He wanted to stay and fight but if he died then there would be no heir to the throne

message 204: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((Could I change it so she brought her violin was with her?))

Lakle gasped as she saw fire, whimpering. She tensed, so scared and lost. Her new home, gone.

message 205: by [deleted user] (new)

((sure))

Dakoda slowed the horse down. They were far enough to slow down now. They were in a thick forest on a barely visible trail, but Dakoda knew where he was going. There was a village a day or twos travel where they could stay until everything cleared up

message 206: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle kept her violin and bow tight to her chest. She ssinf fled, close to tears again. Closing her eyes, she kept her head burying against his neck.

message 207: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda glanced back at her, he felt bad for seeing her so afraid, but also was glad he dragged her out of the castle. They continued in silence, until it got so dark that he couldn't see ahead of him. He stopped the horse, "We can stop here for the night." he said

message 208: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle nodded quietly, sliding off of the horse with shaky legs. She slid to the ground in soreness and sadness, thinking of all the servants who had been killed- and how she should have been with them.

message 209: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda tied the horse and sat down underneath a tree. He huffed and looked over at Lakle, even though it was hard to see her. "Its going to be a cold night." he told her

message 210: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle moved so she was sitting next to the prince, her precious violin cradled in her arms. "What shall we do, your majesty?" She asked in a shaking voice.

message 211: by [deleted user] (new)

"There's a village about a days journey from here." Dakoda replied, "We'll go there and wait to hear from someone from the castle." he added.

message 212: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle nodded quietly, leaning back against the tree and closing her eyes. The thought that she was supposed to be back with the other servants, dead, kept running though her mind.

message 213: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda closed his eyes. He was unusually calm about all of this, but only because he knew panicking wouldn't help either of them.

((So they get kidnapped in the middle of the night?))

message 214: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((Yeah, that works.))

Lakle quickly drifted to sleep, tiredly laying her head on the prince's shoulder, the violin still in her lap.

message 215: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda fell asleep not long after Lakle. Later that night Dakoda woke up hearing his horse making noise. It still was dark but not as dark as before. Dakoda quietly stood up and drew his sword, looking around for what startled his horse

message 216: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle bolted awake when the prince moved, her eyes flying open. She gripped her violin tighter,'looking around worriedly.

message 217: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda looked around, taking a few steps forward. He heard a stick crack and whipped around, only to come face to face to a man twice his size

message 218: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle let out a strangled scream as, at the same time, someone grabbed her from behind. She was forced to her feet, shaking with fear.

message 219: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda swung his sword at the man, only to be knocked off his feet. The man pulled him up by the collar of shirt and pushed his own knife against Dakodas neck

message 220: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "No!" Lakle shouted, trying to break free. She cried out in pain as she was held back, tears filling her eyes at the situation.

message 221: by [deleted user] (new)

"Let her go!" Dakoda snarled at the men, who only sneered at him.

message 222: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) The men holding her back began to march her back to their little cage on wheels that was hidden in the bushes, to take her back to their kingdom. Oddly enough, Lakle still managed to keep ahold of her violin.

message 223: by [deleted user] (new)

The man holding Dakoda dragged him over to the cage. Dakoda struggled even with the knife beginning to pierce his neck

message 224: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle's wrists were tied tightly together before she was thrown in the cage, crying softly. She hugged the violin to her chest, tears streaming down her face.

message 225: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda was thrown into the cage with Lakle, "Let us go!" he demanded

message 226: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) The men just laughed, jerking the small cage forward on the road. Lake stared straight ahead, shaking.

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda looked around for a way out, but expectingly found nothing. Finally he sat down by Lakle to comfort her

message 228: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle took shaking and gasping breaths, trying to breath without sobbing violently and loudly. She shivered in the cold of the night, shifting closer to the prince.

message 229: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda shifted closer to her, "Don't let them know who we are." he whispered I'm her ear

message 230: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle nodded, timidly laying her head on the prince's shoulder as the caste of this kingdom loomed closer in the distance.

message 231: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda wrapped an arm around her. He alternated his graze from the men to the upcoming kingdom. His mind was racing with ways to get away, but the one thing he did know was rthat if they just thought they were common folk then they might have a better chance of getting away

message 232: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle curled into the prince's side, her eyes closed but fully awake and scared. She had heard rumors about what the soldiers did to any girls who they got their hands on.

((I'm going to sleep, night.))

message 233: by [deleted user] (new)

((Night))

Dakoda sighed. He was worried more about Lakle then himself. He had no idea how she would handle things, and Dakoda knew that these types of men were not gently with woman and men alike.

message 234: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Once they had arrived at the castle, the cage was moved to a dungeon. The stench of other bodies reeked in the dark and eerie place, the shaking of chains revealing that anyone else was still alive. One of the men unlocked the cage and grabbed Lakle. In her surprise, the violin slipped from her hands and into the floor of the cage with a soft thud. She cried out as she was dragged away, shaking.

message 235: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda was much more alert when they reached the castle. When the man tried to drag Lakle away, he threw himself at him, but to no avail. Another man shoved him onto the ground and roughly kicked him in the stomach. Dkakoda snarled and was dragged away from Lakle

message 236: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) About an hour later, Lakle was returned. She was shaking, but no longer crying. Her dress was ripped and she was covered in grimy handprints. She was thrown back into the cage.

message 237: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda was in the cage with his ankle shackled to it. He had been sitting in silence and attacking anyone who came to close to him. He snapped his head towards the door when he heard it open, and was horrified to see Lakle. He got up and went over to her quickly, "Are you okay?" he asked, even though he was pretty sure he knew the answer

message 238: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle collapses next to the prince, starting to cry again. She shook almost violently, curling into a ball.

message 239: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda pulled Lakle closer to her, "I'm so sorry..." he muttered to her

message 240: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle buried her face in the prince's chest. For someone who had been so cold to her, he was the safest person here.

message 241: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda wrapped his arms around her protectively.

message 242: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Lakle eventually falls asleep, curled against the prince and shaking. She had one hand around the neck of her precious violin.

message 243: by [deleted user] (new)

Dakoda held her close and watched the men, making sure they wouldn't come near her again

message 244: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((How are they going to escape?))

message 245: by [deleted user] (new)

((hmm, not sure, what do you think?))

message 246: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((Maybe they are just rescued?))

message 247: by [deleted user] (new)

((OK))

message 248: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((So skip to a couple days from now?))

message 249: by [deleted user] (new)

((sure))

message 250: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Three days later, shouting could be heard from above the dark dungeon. Lakle had been pulled away four more times since that first night, no matter how much she or the prince fought it. She was barely speaking, but seemed to take comfort in the presence of her violin.
