Nash has serious objections to Tess joining them on the Kazbekistan assignment because of how dangerous it is for women in that country. Was that his only reason or was it also personal?

Both. He was worried about Tess going into that country without any experience and screwing up. I think he was also worried about how she would handle working with him after sleeping with her then leaving without a word.

It was both personal and professional for Nash. He was worried about her lack of experience, but it was more than that. He worried she wouldn't do well in a country that oppressed women. He didn't want to be in the position of a trainer. Also, he doesn't want the temptation because Tess touches him in a way that he doesn't understand. He worried about his ability to do the job with her around.

I believe it was both, too, and his fear was more about operating in a country that was so oppressive and dangerous for women. Both he and Decker had encouraged her to become a field agent so I don’t think they worried about her job skills. They just thought K-Stan was asking a lot of a new agent. And, Nash had ghosted her and was worried about facing her. He was a chicken.

I actually think it was more personal than professional. Nash would not have objected as vociferously if it had been a different woman. He was scared of his feelings for Tess and knew he would not be in total control if she joined them. He was right.

You all made excellent points and I agree it was both that she was new to field work in a very dangerous country and that Nash was personally concerned because he had gotten involved with her and left without a word because she had gotten to him on a level he wasn't comfortable with.
