Given that Tess worked in support and not the field, I was fairly shocked when she took off her shirt and posed as a topless waitress. I think Nash was surprised too. She figured out how to get a message to Decker without causing suspicion.
I was a little surprised by Tess initially, but then I realized she wanted an opportunity to advance in the organization. She showed that she could think on the spot. Nash scared me a little at first. He was a pretty boy who didn't think twice about killing people. I figured he had a lot of experience in the field. I wanted to know more about him.
Tess really shocked me in this moment. It was pretty daring and to do this in front of colleagues took quite a bit of courage. I immediately thought she wasn’t who I’d imagined her to be, which was confirmed later in the story.
Nash was so chill when he came into the club I never envisioned him having run into any trouble, which I wondered about at the time. Later when he revealed he’d killed two men, I knew he was dangerous and had a really dark side.

I was quite surprised with Tess's daring, but admired her for being able o think on her feet. It created expectations for her character going forward and she more than lived up to them in Kazbekistan. As a covert operative with many years of experience, I was not at all surprised that Nash had to kill the two men. This is not a profession for the meek.
I wasn’t so surprised what Nash had done, just that his demeanor was so normal when he reached Tess. You’re right, it’s a sign of a very experienced operative.
I knew that Tess wasn't going to just stand there when Decker's life was in danger. She had already taken the threat seriously enough to track down Nash. She badly wanted to be a field operative, and this was a chance to show she could be inventive enough for that work.Nash killed men who were going to assassinate Decker. He did what he had to do, but I think knowing that Tess knew what he did gave him pause.
