I just picked up this book from the library. I am looking forward to reading it. I see many HRBC members have already had the pleasure and gave it great reviews. Hope others will enjoy it too.
I love this book but not sure I'm ready for a reread just now. Hope everyone enjoys.

Do you have to read in order.I have 3 books in this series, books 1 and 3 , but have started to read this one first.
Usually, I try to read to read one of the botm but the choices for Sept were ones that I had recently read or am not able to get my hands on.

I think it can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it's better to read the others first IMO, as we gradually develop a picture of Wulf (the hero of this one) throughout the other books, and by the time you reach his book (this one) you are so ready for him to get his HEA.
I really love this book, but did not read it 'cold' as I had already read the other books. I hope you enjoy it. Wulfric's character can be a little hard to like at first, but he's really just a very lonely man trapped inside the formality and expectations of his life as a duke.
I'm not sure whether it's a great idea to vote in books that are #6 in a series for the BOTM, as it's not really fair to those who haven't read #1-5 LOL. Oh well. Hopefully those reading this one without the other books can get into it and enjoy.
Jan, I hadn't thought of that. With so many books now being part of a series....many series number into the teens. Food for thought.

I have had this book for a few years, waiting to be read. I like Mary Balogh. She was one of the reasons I started reading historical romance. Haven’t read one of her books for some time. Been collecting this series and her Huxtable and Westcott series.
I like a grumpy stuffy Duke. Who finds love and happiness 😄

IMO this is Mary Balogh's best book (out of her many, many books LOL). Enjoy!
Finished reading Slightly Dangerous. Overall not a bad read. Did not like the Duke at first. He was just a lonely man, who needed to find happiness. She was a young widow, who was accident prone. Neither of them were looking for love .
