Please separate the two editions, then let us know when they're ready to merge. Use the Separate Tool to separate and combine in one step. Also, when separating the default edition, the system keeps the default. Therefore, you'll need to keep the edition to merge, and separate the unneeded editions.
I separated the two duplicate editions and merge just them together. I hope that is what you needed. Of course I think the default edition is the empty edition that needs deleted.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Yes, exactly so. The merge is pending.Goodreads has specific definitions for merge and combine. When we merge two books, one of the books is deleted and its reviews are moved to the target edition. Two books become one.
When we combine, we group books together. So we'd start with two editions of the same book that are separate, combine them, and both editions would appear on the same edition list. The reviews stay with the book with which they were first associated.
You can think of it as grouping different editions of the same book on a library shelf. The number of books doesn't change; they're just grouped together to make them easier to find. :D
