I need a book that immediately draws me, right off the bat, starting with its first line. The kind of book that doesn't struggle to get good until chapter 25; the kind of story without a single dull moment. It should just naturally call to me, get me biting my fingernails, have me on the edge of my seat. I know it's probably too much to ask for, but I've seen it before with books like Hunger Games, Gone Girl, Verity, and other rarities. So, does anyone have any reccs that meet these standards? Thanks in advance!

If you're into Sci-fi, I stumbled on The Stars Within by Alex Arch in a stroke of luck and have been recommending it ever since. Hooked me on the first page and the ending is just wow!
i’m currently reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. it’s a beauty and the beast retelling and i was hooked from the first line!!“There is blood under my fingernails. I wonder how many of my people I’ve killed this time.”
every chapter alternates between POV’s which i really like! let me know if any of you guys have read it & your thoughts! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
The Shadows Between Us: I love the first line so much. A Curse So Dark and Lonely
And one I just blazed through in one sitting was Today Tonight Tomorrow
