Hello ladies! I just wanted to let you guys know that I am sick with a sinus infection and cold, so I probably won’t be commenting as much and it will probably take me some time to update things such as like book of the month then stuff like that just because I’m trying to limit how much screen time Because I’m not feeling myself so bear with me but I just thought I’d let you guys know so if I’m not commenting very much that’s why. I am not feeling good at all. It’s going around the Midwest area and it’s terrible. If you do need me feel free to message me I’ll hop on here from time to time.

@ana honestly that would be great if you want to help. But since I created the thread, you’ll just have to make a new comment in the book of the month with the books that have that I’ve started and then people that have requested books does that make sense like kind of start your own comment? That way you can add to it because right now since I created the thread, you can’t edit other peoples comments you can only edit your own comments.

The poll will need to be made tomorrow. And then we will announce the winner January 30 that way it’ll give people time to get their copy of the book and then we’ll start on 1 February. I will post and make an announcement in the book of the month thread. But when you make the poll there should be a box to the side that says make votes anonymous you need to click that that way nobody can see what people pick because I think it’s just fair if we do it that way. Pretty much the only one that will be able to see it is you, but for everybody else, it’ll just say votes are anonymous.

I’ve been drinking lots of hot tea, water, and Vicks vapor. Rub is been my life-saving grace. I’m hoping this runny nose and cough goes away cause it’s killing me. And it doesn’t help they were supposed to get really bad weather tonight. And when I mean bad weather, we already have snow on the ground and ice but from midnight to five in the morning tonight it’s supposed to snow again so hopefully it doesn’t freeze over tonight because we’re gonna be in trouble. The roads are terrible here.

Hey ladies!!! Update: feeling so much better and I am coming down with the last of it so just small stuff now.

But what I was wondering is for BOTM’s nominations and polls I know there is a list of books that have won more than 3 times and I was looking at it.

A few books that I know we said was Caraval, The Cruel Prince, Red Queen, and a few others that can’t me mentioned since they have won more than 3 times. With that being said it’s totally my fault I didn’t catch it…. But for February’s BOTM Caraval and Red Queen are on the list and I truly think it’s not fair because we have had those mentioned before and have won multiple times now…. How do we want to go about this? Let it slide this time or do we need to tweek the poll and let others know that those will be taken off.

Actually, The Cruel Prince and Caraval have only won the BOTM once before, and Red Queen has never been the BOTM before. Books like A Good Girl's Guide to Murder has won the BOTM twice before, so I think there's no reason that Cruel Prince, Caraval, and Red Queen can't be on the poll. Also, I think we should choose books that the group's interested in reading; there are certainly new members that have joined since Cruel Prince and Caraval have won:)

Hey guys quick question, in the BOTM poll do the comment votes count or not? Because we’re less than an hour from the poll ending and there’s a tie between 3 books! I mean hopefully someone else votes before it ends but just wondering for if it stays the same :)

Uh oh! It seems like the comment votes won't break the tie between the three tied books...what do you think of having a tiebreaker poll that lasts for a couple of days (one day is pretty short) between the three books, but instead of inviting people to vote on the poll, we put the link to the poll in group threads, so whoever votes on the poll will be more likely to participate in the BOTM? Hopefully that made sense! That was one long run-on sentence 😂 Thanks for letting us know- I didn't notice!

I normally count them because if they don’t mind that book winning then the vote should count but if we have a tie we need to make a tiebreaker poll and go from there.

Yeah, I was thinking about that...I might take a hiatus from GR for Lent, but that's no reason to not have a challenge. Since it's called Winter Blooms, it's probably best that the challenge starts soon after this challenge ends. February 18th, maybe? What do you all think?

The idea that Emi-Jo had for the Winter Bloom challenge was for the teams to have names of flowers that bloom in winter and I do really like that idea. Like Snowdrop, Winterberry, Hellebores and Camellias, what do you guys think? There’s more winter flowers if you don’t fully like one of those flowers.
