I wouldn’t mind archived threads being deleted if they’re over 6 months old.

Sorry, I wasn't aware that you had to scroll through any old threads to get to the ones that are active. They should all be in the archive folder, which is at the bottom of the discussion topics, no? I like to leave them there, especially the challenge threads, to use as references to make new challenges:) I can remove the archive folder from the discussion board if you would like me to as well.

Also, I believe we did let members create their own threads in the Writer's Folder, because it seemed impossible to keep random members from advertising their books, so we just created a folder for it:)

Yeehawwlovesbooks | 1383 comments Mod
Oh my bad Catherine I thought members were allowed to create threads at all so I didn’t know if I was for advertising books that they could do that.

message 605: by Ana, Moderator (new)

Ana Lopez | 682 comments Mod
I personally don't mind if people create their own threads in the Writers Folder to advertise their books, I also know that people can create their own book nook which is also fine but aside from those two places I also agree that people shouldn’t create any more threads and have to ask the mods.

And about deleting archive threads that are months old, I really don’t mind what you all decided. If you want to delete them or store them, both is fine with me :)

Ladies... man it took me some damn courage to figure out this Moderator read that I wanted to host. So you guys 2 choices that it could be... True Betrayals OR A Killer Came Knocking!

I will not say who guessed it until I am closer to finishing the book I am currently reading. but also gives you guys time to think if you want to join.

2nd poll. This is the one someone needs to send invites to!

Thanks, I'll send out a broadcast later! I'll also do the poll #2 invites now.

OK ladies so for both poles all the light we cannot see one both polls so do we just want that book for May’s book of the month or do we want to do the next top pick on number one which would’ve been the love hypothesis? I don’t feel like we should have to make another poll.

message 612: by Ana, Moderator (new)

Ana Lopez | 682 comments Mod
That’s so weird how the same book won both polls 😂 I think we should make the BOTM be All the light we cannot see as well as the Love Hypothesis which was the second most voted right? That way we will still have two BOTMs for May. What do you all think?

message 613: by Yeehawwlovesbooks, Lead Moderator (new)

Yeehawwlovesbooks | 1383 comments Mod
That is what I was thinking as well! People still have a choice of which one they want to read!

message 614: by Catherine (semi active), Co-Founder (inactive) (new)

Catherine (semi active) | 1438 comments Mod
I agree, about having All the Light We Cannot See and The Love Hypothesis as the next BOTMs. To avoid this in the future and so that only one person has to invite people, we could always just have one poll ;) I understand that having 2 polls makes the most sense to y'all though, so I'm fine with that:)

I agree we could use the first two choices from only 1 poll for our 2 book of the month choices for less confusion!

message 616: by Yeehawwlovesbooks, Lead Moderator (new)

Yeehawwlovesbooks | 1383 comments Mod
Okay. I will make the announcement that the second BOTM winner is the Love Hypothesis!!!!

message 618: by Ana, Moderator (new)

I also agree on making only one poll and then the top two choices are the BOTMs so that this doesn’t happen again :)

I think I might choose another Mod Read. I'm just not really interested in the book so far. we can delete the thread and I will find another book that interests me to start a new read!

I will do that now and once you think of a new Mod read you can create it!

Just to let you all know that I will be picking a different Mod read. The book is written in third person and is just not holding my attention and is giving me headaches so I am going to put it on pause and pick a new read which is..... The Island

Hey y'all! What do you think of turning the "would you rather book edition" game into would you rather in general? Book-themed WYR questions would be preferred, but I'm having a hard time coming up a bunch of different book-themed WYR questions.

Hey guys I hope you’re all doing great!

Our current reading challenge is coming to an end so has anyone come up with any ideas for the next challenge?

message 629: by Yeehawwlovesbooks, Lead Moderator (new)

Yeehawwlovesbooks | 1383 comments Mod
I was literally just thinking about that and I’m thinking that we should wait because I think a lot of people are in Reading slump right now and I think we should at least wait a month brainstorm ideas give everybody a month to get a break. Let them recuperate from a slump and then post a new challenge after the break.

message 630: by Catherine (semi active), Co-Founder (inactive) (new)

Catherine (semi active) | 1438 comments Mod
Thanks Ana, I'm doing well! How about you?

I agree with waiting a bit. If we have one straight after the other, it takes away from the "Oo new challenge!!" vibe a bit, I think.

(As for the WYR book edition, I'll wait until Mackenize says OK, since she created the thread:))

message 631: by Ana, Moderator (new)

Ana Lopez | 682 comments Mod
Okay sounds good and yes I think waiting about a month or so should be perfect to get a break and get plenty of time to get ready for a new one in the future :)

Hey! Just checking in about the challenge ending. Since the challenge ends tomorrow, any books finished tomorrow should count, no?

message 636: by Yeehawwlovesbooks, Lead Moderator (new)

Yeehawwlovesbooks | 1383 comments Mod
I think all books need to be logged by tonight. I don’t think it’s fair to count them tomorrow since the challenge ends.

Hello ladies! When are we wanting to start brainstorming ideas for a new reading challenge?

message 645: by Ana, Moderator (new)

Ana Lopez | 682 comments Mod
I think we could start coming up with ideas now-ish so that maybe the challenge could start at the end of the month or something like that.
Do we want to do a summer theme or something different?

Ok I’ve created a Google doc for the reading challenge so that we can all edit it and add the challenge name, team names and prompts :)

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-...

message 648: by Catherine (semi active), Co-Founder (inactive) (new)

Catherine (semi active) | 1438 comments Mod
Hey y'all! Thanks for reaching out, V, and for creating the doc, Ana.

Regarding the writing prompts, is it OK if I change them to the ones from the last challenge? If y'all like these ones better, though, that's OK with me:)

What about a theme that has to do with what people enjoy doing in the summer/in their free time?

So for example a team who likes sleeping (me LOL), an artsy team, an active team, a social butterfly team, etc.

Just throwing ideas out there 😆

message 649: by Ana, Moderator (new)

Ana Lopez | 682 comments Mod
You’re welcome Catherine! I’m fine with repeating the writing prompts from the previous challenge :)

I love that theme! With the different activities team names, that’s fun :)

message 650: by Catherine (semi active), Co-Founder (inactive) (new)

Catherine (semi active) | 1438 comments Mod
Awesome! I'll wait to change them, just in case V or Mackenzie have a preference:)

Thanks! So perhaps we can decide on the topics first, and then come up with names based on that.

I think we should go with the artsy and active team, but I'm not sure about the other two team names. Hopefully we'll come up with something eventually ;)
