Hey V and Mackenzie, are we going to use the google doc for the challenge? Because it’s very confusing how we have different versions of the challenge on the signup pages and on the team chats. I mean in the broadcast that Catherine sent she sent the google doc version to everyone and the new dates.

I understand being busy, it happens :) that’s why I think it would be easier and faster to just copy and paste the google doc instead of trying to go through all of the prompts, points and dates to change them, no?

I think the Google doc is confusing that’s why I’m confused because the Google Docs says one thing and this whole post that I made says one thing which the only reason why I made the post and the dates I did and didn’t change the prompts was because it’s more prompts that they can use two with book prompts being limited. It makes it extremely harder to do but I can do either. I can just copy and paste it or whatever.

Like I said, I think the Google Doc is very confusing. The only difference between the Google Doc and what I posted is different starting dates, different book, prompts, and new point system. If the Google doc was posted before I made the post, it wouldn’t have been confusing, but I just feel like I kind of created the post or new Reading challenge and it’s useless because now everything’s changed.

What if we just keep the post you made V with the dates you put, we leave the prompts you have and we just adjust the point system for the review and writing points to depending how many words each are long? But we do need to come up with a solution soon because it is confusing not just for us but also for the other members 🤷🏻‍♀️

No, I totally agree. The people that are participating need to understand all the rules and the dates and everything. I guess we’ll wait to hear from what McKenzie has to say and then we’ll go from there.

Hello ladies! I was just updating the BOTM for April and I honestly think we either need to do 2 BOTM choices for each month from now on or start doing group readalongs. I know for April we have quite a bit of pretty good options and I do also think we make the extra points in the comments for the poll but I just feel like some books aren't getting a fair vote. What do you guys think about this.

I would not mind having 2 BOTM per month because yes I’ve seen that a lot of books get seconded and go to the poll but out of all of the options only one gets chosen. And yes I also like when you can do extra votes in the comments of the poll.

I totally agree. I think we should still stick with the extra votes in the pole but I think we should have two book of the month that way it’s at least fair because we also do have a lot of people in this group that read certain genres and it just makes it more fair so I say we start that next month, or we can start it this month but we make an announcement. Do you guys wanna start that this month because April got totally good options so I think it would be a good idea to start this month honestly because then April would get a fair chance.

I agree I mean, especially if you’ve never read them and you read the back of the book and it’s like oh that’s interesting or you read a couple of peoples reviews and you see the reviews and you want to read it. It’s hard to settle on just one.

Hey I was also thinking that since with this challenge we had a few problems with like having different dates and different prompt ideas and all maybe from now on we could plan the next challenge like a week or so before the current one ends and that way we have a while for all of the mods to answer and not feel so rushed before posting anything so that we don’t confuse ourselves or the other members :) what do you guys think?

I’ve also been having some ideas for the next challenge but I don’t know if anyone else has also thought of anything for it or not 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

Yes, we do need to start thinking about the next Reading challenge and like maybe some more proms that we could do and finalize everything and I’ll come to an agreement of all prompts look good and all point systems look good and everything.
