Here's a thread for those vintage gems that HAVE been reprinted recently.

Sem kindly pointed out that Jane Louise Curry's Abaloc Series and other books are once again available:

The Abaloc/Apple Lock Series:
Beneath the Hill
The Change Child
The Watchers
The Birdstones
The Daybreakers
Shadow Dancers
The Wolves Of Aam
Over the Sea's Edge

Sem wrote:
"On the other hand, some out-of-print books have been resurrected. For example, Jane Louise Curry's Abaloc series which is in e-book format from CandleWood, a sister imprint of Anamchara books. Several of Curry's other books have been made available again."

Daisy (daisyporter) | 6 comments I'm not sure this is recent enough, but I was delighted to learn in 2017 that most of Lenora Mattingly Weber's books have been reprinted by Image Cascade Publishing, including the Beany Malone and Katie Rose Belford series.

It's also worth mentioning, although I'm sure you know this, that the New York Review Children's Collection is doing a splendid job of reintroducing out-of-print books. I keep a close watch on their releases as their tastes run parallel to mine.

Nope, was utterly unaware of this (assume I know nothing!). THANKS, Sem! :D

A Stitch in Time republished by Collins Modern Classics: https://www.harpercollins.com/product...

The Voyage of QV66 republished by Jane Nissen Books (can't find her site, so here's the doomed Book Depository's): https://www.bookdepository.com/Voyage...

The Ghost of Thomas Kempe republished by Harper Collins: https://harpercollins.co.uk/products/...

... and yet no one's done my fav, The Wild Hunt of Hagworthy, sadly... :S It would be so timely and 'on-trend'.

The House on the Brink was a 'pricey/scarce' option I didn't think I'd get the chance to read, but it's been republished (The House on the Brink) and is still available online (Book Depository, while it lasts, for example).

Valancourt does excellent work in resurrecting certain kinds of out-of-print fiction. One of my favourite publishers.

Also, Manderley Press (not allowed to give link) is going to be publishing a volume of her short stories called, I think, Tales of London Town. Some time next year. They do beautiful editions of older books.

I love those. It's a shame that Small Beer Press is on hiatus. They've published some wonderful stuff.

I love the Armitage stories, they are very funny. My favourite one is The Apple of Trouble.

Maria | 3 comments For reprints of out of print books I can recommend Purple House Press, Smidgen Book Press and Bethlehem books. There’s one just getting established called Renewed Books. I also love picking up reprints by Jane Nissen and New York Review.

The very scarce Mystery at the Villa Bianca by Priscilla Hagon (Mabel Esther Allan pseudonym) has been reprinted by Greyladies Books (UK) as of today!

https://www.greyladiesbooks.co.uk/pag...
Frances Gray is on her way to her new job as assistant secretary at the Villa Bianca, an exclusive finishing school near Lugano in the Italian canton of Switzerland. Her work is pleasant and she gets on well with the girls, but there are disturbing undercurrents: a girl has been killed on a trip to Milan and everyone is ordered to forget it, but more accidents follow – too many more. And nightmares, sleepwalking, shadowy figures lurking in the dark, a tragic yet glamorous widow … And what you might have thought was a Young Adult school story has become a tense, nail-biting thriller.
Contains an introduction by Sue Sims.Originally published in 1969

For the School Stories crowd, mostly, but I'm looking forward to putting it with my juvenile lit. set in Switzerland collection, of which Mabel Esther Allan dominates. ;)

I've moved a post by Ines here:
Hello everyone. My name is Ines, my partner Harry and I are building a new independent publisher dedicated to reviving out-of-print literary works and creating exceptional reading experiences. We are currently working on republishing Ambush of Young Days, by Alison Uttley - best known for a children's series Little Grey Rabbit.

Would you spare 5 minutes to share your thoughts in our survey?
Click to participate. [link removed]

Thank you for being a part of our journey!

I removed the link to the survey, but Ines, if you want to better explain what the survey is and why it might be of interest to readers of this group, we can reinstate it. :) Seeing as you just joined GR today, please forgive me from being cautious. ;)

Anyway, THIS is the place for "It's Back in Print!", so I've moved the advert for the Uttley memoir here.

Sem has very nicely verified that the website is legit and all. :) (and then I edited this post to reflect that info)
