Maybe that's the secret, we should all eat chocolate cake while we read and we will read Way faster ;-)
I actually made and decorated 36 cupcakes on the first day of this challenge for my little boy's pre-school. The trick is to stick the kindle on text-to-speech whilst baking, and you'll get through your book whilst doing other stuff ☺
I'm going to slow down a bit because the pace I'm going at is not sustainable haha I must admit I am losing so sleep trying to finish a book a day xD
Elizabeth wrote: "How do you do text to speech on kindle?"Which kinlde do you have? You can't do it on the paperwhite or the basic kindle.
Sleep is very important, I just woke up. I didn't finish a book yesterday, I had too much going on, and I wanted to sleep. We are good we have the whole team going now :-)

I thought you could do it on the basic one. I might be wrong though. It's a long time since i broke my regular kindle!
Basically, if you go to the 'settings' when reading a book, it comes up with an options box - font size, line spacing, margins etc. and at the bottom is 'text-to-speech' on/off. If you turn it 'on' on the settings, then inside the book, next to the bar at the bottom which tells you how far along you are in the book is a little triangle 'play' button. you click that and it starts reading it to you.
and no, there's only the one american woman's voice. my boyfriend hates it!

You used to be able to, but not long after I got my paperweight they bought out a new basic one, and they took it off.
that's pants. definitely not getting another basic kindle if that is the case. I did think I used to do it with my original kindle.
Hey just a little for your information on the iPad Kindle app you can do text to speech, and there are multiple choices of narration. However, I'm not sure if they all speak English :-) I just figure that out right now, playing around with the app. Well I should be sleeping! So good night all ;-)
Well, I'm almost done with the book I'm reading right now :-) really enjoying it! I'm hoping to finish another tonight or early tomorrow morning. Tomorrow I am going with my oldest son to his college open house, is his second choice, we haven't heard from his number one choice yet.. I am kind of hoping this is where he will end up going to school, it is closer, and he got into a really good program, but we shall see. So, tomorrow I will not be reading much at all except for in the morning!
I'm away at my grandma's this weekend so I'll probably get a fair bit of reading down, but I'll not be able to post reviews until Sunday night :)
BTW, my comment in the other thread was not directed towards anyone on the team! We have a great team! :-)
Hey guys! I'm sorry I've not been on in a while, I have been reading I just haven't had much of a chance between that and college to get reviews done and uploaded on the thread, apologies. I will upload those either tonight or tomorrow. I should have 6ish, sorry again!
No worries Elizabeth! I'm impressed at how many books you guys can read while you're in school. I think while I was in high school and college I didn't do much recreational reading at all!
I think that the teams were so far behind the Chasers, that they didn't want us to get discouraged and give up completely. Actually I think we are doing pretty good, I know you have a few reviews that you haven't posted yet, because you're so busy, but when those get posted we will be doing even better :-)
Elizabeth, I've been gone all day, let me look at it and then try to explain it. I don't remember exactly what I did.
Great! I haven't read at all today except in the morning, just got home. I might start a book right now, or not :-)Elizabeth, go to settings on your iPad, go to General, then accessibility, then speech, you should be able to turn on speak page. Then in the app slide two fingers down on the screen and it should read you the screen and continued reading, Hope that helps ;-)
When I get back from my grandmas tonight I should have another 2 reviews to put up so that will be a few more points :)
I did a search of some Kindle Freebies. Would anyone like to buddy them? :)I'm posting aussie links but I think they'll also be free on UK and US

Great job guys! Christina, I'm finishing up a book right now, then I really really need to read my book for my in person book group. After that I will join you and a buddy read for both or one of those books.
Hope that helps Elizabeth, I just figured it out if you days ago myself, haven't really used it though. Looking at the scoreboard we have read the same amount of books as the Chasers, they are beating us on buddy reads. I have really tried to only do buddy reads this month, however that is difficult for many reasons. Maybe anytime we start a book we can mention it here and see if anyone would like to join us. Rachel, I will definitely but he read Champion with you if you want to this month, just let me know when. Christina, as I mentioned earlier I will read those books with you. The next book I am reading is for my in person book group, doubt anyone of you would want to read it, I don't really necessarily want to myself, but I have to. I think we actually have a chance :-) it is only because we have such an amazing team!! Keep reading :-)
