message 206: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Does anyone else feel the very competitive side of them coming out? I'm thinking now I want to read 30 books at least this month! The cool thing is not just one of us is holding up the group, we are working so well as a team!

message 207: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Yep. :( Glad our team works so well. :)

message 208: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments @Berit
We don't have daylight saving today - quick google search:
Sun 5th April - backwards an hour
Sun 4th October - forward an hour

message 209: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Yes I only planned 12 books this month!! But I think we have a chance to be on top even if we don't beat the Chasers so I can't help myself but try and do 1 a day hahaha

message 210: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I know I am debating right now if I should go to bed and wake up early and finish this book or try to finish it tonight. It's very addictive, I love reading, but I didn't realize how competitive I still was.

message 211: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments @Berit
Hmm Tough choice! Depends on whether you can get a good nights rest knowing the book is not finished :P

message 212: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Challenges get you motivated to read more, that's the good thing about them. :)

message 213: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments We are only 14 points behind the chasers!

message 214: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Really? Good for us! Keep up the good work team! Marcus the thread for Prodigy is set up!march 12 if anyone wants to join us.

message 217: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter I'm reading OCD love story and All the bright places at the moment :)

message 218: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Rachel, is All the Bright Places a buddy read? If not why don't we ask them to set up a thread and I will join you later today, let me know ASAP

message 219: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter It's not a buddy read no :) I'm only like 20 pages in so that would be great

message 220: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I will go ask them to restart the thread for today March 8, I have that book on my shelves.

message 221: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I hope you guys like it! It's such a great book! I'm reading Dreamland, the current RtoR, and Bomb.

message 222: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter Thanks Berit :)

message 223: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Rachel, I asked them to restart the thread for today or tomorrow, you could probably just comment on the current thread until then. I need to slog through this book, almost done though :-) then I think that is just what I need to read!

message 224: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter Ok great thanks :) I'm going to finish a bit of work for uni tomorrow then I'll be back to reading haha

message 225: by phoebe (new)

phoebe (phoebecarrazco) | 538 comments Hey guys I am so sorry I havent been contributing as much as you all have this week! We've literally been testing every single day so I haven't had much opportunity to be reading :( I promise I will definitely be reading much more this week! Great job to everyone also we are one of the top teams :)

message 226: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments No worries! I have teenagers, my daughter who is 17 has been reading the same book for the last month. Her brother does not read, although he has a very tough school schedule and plays high school baseball, so I'll cut him some slack.:-) As far as I see it every book counts. We are working very well as a team! Rachel the thread has been set up.i'm excited I've wanted to read that book and I need something current right about now!

message 227: by Markus (new)

Markus I have school the coming week as well, but then I'll have a week off, so I am hoping to read more then. Currently reading Slam by Nick Hornby and it is a bit slow but really enjoyable.

message 228: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments I'm currently reading Unearthly by Cynthia Hand and trying to decide what else at the moment! Keep up the good work!

message 229: by Berit (new)

message 233: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I was just looking at the names of the people on our team. One of them we haven't heard from her since she checked in. So, we are a person down and still doing amazing!

message 234: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Who hasnt participated yet? and were still first :D We're doing amazingly and working well as a team :)

message 235: by Markus (new)

Markus If anyone feels like a read-a-thon would help them with their reading then you can take part in the Read-O-Rama read-a-thon.
Their Twitter:https://twitter.com/readorama
I am just trying to do some of the challenges, but maybe someone really wants to dedicate.

message 236: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments what is read o rama?

message 237: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I really like how much reading has been embraced by social media. One complaint I do have about book tube, is there always showing you all these books they bought or God and never really telling you about reading them.:-)

message 238: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments some book tubers don't really read much :p I do like seeing their purchases though

message 239: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Don't get me wrong, I like seeing the books they buy, I just think it's kind of funny they don't read very many of them.☺️

message 240: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I've never watched any booktubers I may have to give them a try

message 241: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments It's a good gig, they get people sending them books all the time!

message 242: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments I had a ton that I haven't read on my sisters and my shelf and we just go to the library all the time instead lol!

message 243: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments I guess they might feel burdened since they get free books and they have to review them. It's kind of expected of them and then they don't get to choose what to read anymore

message 244: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I wouldn't like that, reading is my escape, I wouldn't want it to be my job. I like watching the videos just to know what books are coming out and such. Also they are quite entertaining at times ;-)

message 245: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Some of the people I watch, actually most of them, do great reviews. I have one book tuber in particular that I really like. I feel like it's the same way with a lot of bloggers these days where they feel obligated to review book they get. as I have blogged it more, I feel more pressure to read books everyone is reading and read faster. Also, I feel pressure to request book and review them.

message 246: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Do you do a book blog?

message 247: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Yes! It is so much fun! jackiegirl02.wordpress.com

message 248: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Wow we are on fire, I think in terms of active participants we are on top!

message 249: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I will try and post my reviews this weekend! I'm sorry I've been really busy with school. :(

message 250: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I have to say I am astounded at the amount of reading going on! We are all doing so extremely well! Keep it up! And always remember every book counts!those Chasers are crazy, do they eat? Or sleep?
