message 5: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I think this will be fun, does anyone have an idea how many books they want to read next month? My plan is around 20.☺️

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I've read about 29 this month so far so my plan is 30/32

message 7: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Great Elizabeth! I think we get extra points for buddy reads, I am planning on doing a few of those as well.i've been saving my shorter books for March☺️

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I've not done many buddy reads, I've only done two. We'll have to put what we want to read down and if anyone has the same as someone else or has that book as well, we could do buddy reads if everyone wanted too

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I haven't really got any short books, I don't know why but my eye seems to catch pretty covers and big books☺️

message 10: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I've always liked longer books, it is just recently I have developed an appreciation for a shorter book!☺️

message 11: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I think putting down what books we want to read it is a good idea if we want to buddy

message 12: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I'll try to read 10, but school might get in the way.

message 13: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments No worries! I think I read barely anything during my college days!☺️

message 14: by María (last edited Feb 24, 2015 04:31PM) (new)

María | 2037 comments READY!!!
I'll try to read 20 books but I'm a teacher and here we are starting our school year so I have a lot to work :(
I didn't do any buddy read this month but if you post the books here I can look for them with time...
I can read in English and in Spanish

message 15: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I will have at least four full days to read because of spring break. What is everyone planning to read?☺

message 16: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Elizabeth, that is a good idea. If there is a book a few of us want to read we could set up a buddy read in this group. I am generally up for any and all suggestions.☺️

message 17: by Markus (new)

Markus I'm ready!

message 18: by Markus (new)

Markus I think we should get our TBRs ready and just see if we have the same books! Also, does a buddy read have to be within the whole team or how exactly?

message 19: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Markus wrote: "I think we should get our TBRs ready and just see if we have the same books! Also, does a buddy read have to be within the whole team or how exactly?"

The buddy read can be with anyone in the group. :)

message 20: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments The buddy read can be within the team, but it doesn't have to be.

message 21: by Markus (last edited Feb 25, 2015 10:34AM) (new)

message 22: by Markus (new)

Markus By the way, do we have to start the books in March or can we start earlier and finish in March?

message 23: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Markus wrote: "By the way, do we have to start the books in March or can we start earlier and finish in March?"

Books need to be started and finished in March to count for the challenge. :)

message 24: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Marcus, quite a few of the books you mentioned are already buddy reads in this group. I also want to read A prodigy, so maybe we can set something up. Do you know how many books you want to read altogether?

message 25: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter Ready :)

message 26: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter I'm hoping to read around 15 books in March, I've already got some buddy reads planned for March as well :)

message 27: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Awesome! How many books do you intend to read next month? I think if we as a team can set a goal for around 130+ bonus buddy reading points, we have a fighting chance. It amazes me how many books those girls can read :-)

message 28: by Markus (new)

Markus I am going for 15 to 20 books.

message 29: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Perfect :-) I think our total right now is 95 books we intend to read!

message 30: by phoebe (new)

phoebe (phoebecarrazco) | 538 comments Ready! This is my first time doing one of these so I'm not exactly sure how to do the whole "buddy read" thing but if anyone has ideas I'll be glad to join :)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments How many books do you plan on reading

message 32: by phoebe (new)

Thank you so much, that helped a lot! The only question I have is for The Chase challenge do the books all have to be read in buddy reads or can we read individually too?

message 35: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments You can read individually as well. Buddy read just give you an extra bonus point

message 39: by phoebe (new)

phoebe (phoebecarrazco) | 538 comments Oh okay, thank you Sarah and Jackie!

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Christina wrote: "Nice to see an active team! I'm ready"

Great! This team is now good to go when the challenge starts. :)

message 41: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments Such a good book!WGWG , I took a look at all the ongoing but he reads for March and signed up for the ones I either own the book already for or was really wanting to read.. I think if we all read what we intend to, then any buddy reading points will be a bonus :-) I wouldn't stress on the whole buddy reading thing.

message 42: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90918 comments Mod
Yay! The whole team has checked in! You are ready to go ☺

message 43: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments How many books are you going to read Christina

message 44: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments I think if my math is right we are now at 110 books intending to be read :-)2people haven't given a number yet, so if they each read at least 10 we are at 130! Plus any extra buddy reading points☺️I know we are supposed to be serious, but I say we need to also have a lot of fun!

message 45: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Gunter I agree, serious but fun at the same time! :)

message 46: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Definitely at least 10. I'm still getting a list together of what I plan to read!

message 47: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Do buddy read points count or just the number of books?

message 48: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Buddy read points count

message 49: by Christina (last edited Feb 25, 2015 05:54PM) (new)

Christina | 4293 comments @Jackie
Does it count to beating the chaser? Do we read more books than chaser or get more points than the chaser? I'm a bit unsure

Eg how would it affect the team if I only did individual reading as opposed to buddy reading ? Hope I'm making sense

message 50: by Berit (new)

Berit | 872 comments As I understand it you get 1Point per book and an extra point if it is a buddy read with in this particular group.it doesn't need to be with the team member, but it has to be in this group. Does that make sense? So, yes but he reads help.
