Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Categories completed by 2 people should read that we've done 2 and it only says 1, as well.

Hey I just was able to see the spreadsheet and I'll let Kadi know it's not showing that it's completed by a single person unless it needs be and see if the points are added up right, other people have been having this problem on their sheets as well.

Kelly, if you want to do a #41 mine can move to #71 so we get another 1 person category... only if you have the time. Fun!

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments So I just thought of something, would ya'll consider being a vampire a curse? If it is then I can knock out section 11 easier.

Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book:
Belle, a captive in the Beast's castle, has become accustomed to her new home and has befriended its inhabitants. When she comes upon NEVERMORE, an enchanted book unlike anything else she has seen in the castle, Belle finds herself pulled into its pages.
Don't know about the vampire world, but this might help?

message 213: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments So update: I asked Kadi, because my book I was reading, I have book two and he's turned vampire (Kadi says is a curse). It's book two in the Cirque Du Freak series ( Childhood series).

If I don't feel/ able to finish nevermoor then I can knock it out along with the section!

Debby, that sounds good! I can read one of my son's Spy School books! I'll read that after I finish A Horse and His Boy and Becoming Muhammed Ali to finish off category 9. Finishing these 3 by the 31st is doable and then I may even finish off category 12 since I have some of those on audio. Whenever I've been in the car I've been listening to the books and at work on my breaks. Mad reading and mad listening!

To be honest, I'll need a little middle grade break come September!!! ;-)

message 217: by Kelly (last edited Aug 28, 2022 11:19AM) (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) I'm actually going to read Spy School: the Graphic Novel because it's over 150 pages long so it counts. I can read that a lot faster than the novels. I got it on Libby, too, so I can sneak it in a little here at work today ;-)

message 218: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Just realized that the main character in Spy School book 1 is only 12 in the book, so he's not a "teen agent" technically. Grr. He's 13 in the second book, which they've also made into a graphic novel, but it doesn't come out until April. Of course! Will figure it out, just wanted to keep you guys posted.

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I'm confident I can finish off categories 5, 10, and 13 in time. Not sure if I can go beyond that.

I can finish off 53 and possibly 37 put I don't think I can finish 38 in time

Does being taken in by relatives count as being adopted?

I think I have several books on hand that would work for that, in case I get the chance. If I can get an audiobook, that would be even better.

message 222: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments And do they have to be adopted before the start of the story?

message 223: by Jos (new)

Jos (bunny_herondale) | 21 comments For category 68, a book about a character being false accused of stealing and then proving innocence counts as redeeming themselves?

message 224: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I don't know; I think they'd have to really steal to count.

message 225: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Hey guys. I'm a little bit into Spy Camp to finish a category and I'm feeling a bit petered out!! I'm going to keep reading but I'm definitely not getting to anything else by the end of the 31st!

My mental health yesterday and today has been very eh, I'm still here but today was taking a relax day. But hope eveything goes out well. According to the spreedsheet we have 1 day left.

Jos wrote: "For category 68, a book about a character being false accused of stealing and then proving innocence counts as redeeming themselves?"
I would take redeeming themselves as they more as they did something evil or error and work through making thing and themselves better.

I've always taken in as being adopted as more a seperate new family, but I don't lnow the logisitics of it.

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments Through the 31st, right? (Two days)

message 228: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Audrey wrote: "Through the 31st, right? (Two days)"

That's what I thought but I think because it's based in Europe that it's a day ahead so with it showing 1 day makes sense

message 229: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I think it's based on whatever time zone you're in.

message 230: by Jos (new)

Jos (bunny_herondale) | 21 comments Hey, for task 36 I'm reading Aru Shah and the Song of Death by Roshani Chokshi, however I'm reading it in Spanish, do I have to write the Spanish title in the spreadsheet? The cover is the same in Spanish and in English

The way you have it is fine, as long as it has the title and the author!

Also ya'll we are now tied for first!

message 232: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Today is the last day! Make sure eveything is put in that you want to put in for the form! Currently we are tied for first but I don't know of what all is left to put in on ours or the other sheets.
Overall this was fun and no matter what I hope we all ready some good middle grade books!

message 233: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Jos, I read that for a different task :( Task #4

message 234: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Yay, last day!! I agree, Aeriell. However we finish, I read some awesome books. I was introduced to some new authors and series that I love!

I'm off work today (wahoooo) and should finish task 57 for sure. I'll attempt to start and finish my book for task 56, but we'll see!

message 235: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Wish I had time to complete category 12! I tried. If I don't do anything but read today, I can come close!

Hey let me ask Kadi if the same book can be read by two different people and count.

message 238: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Kelly wrote: "Jos, I read that for a different task :( Task #4"

I asked Kadi and this is what she said:Yep that’s fine! You could even have 1 person read the same book twice for 2 different tasks!

So it does count!

Wooo hoo!

I loved that book. I hadn't read the first one, but it was just fine. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series, and it made me excited to read the rest of the RR Presents books. They're very good!!!
