Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Let's go for third place, ladies!!! I'm not sure the reality of us catching up to Teams Wolf and Zenobia at this point but if we keep plugging away we can definitely take third. But anything is possible! (I'm only a tad competitive...😉)

So, interesting, In Which Witch?, the set up is the dark wizard needs a wife and sets up a competition, but the protagonist is Belladonna, the white witch who tries to be dark as she has fallen for the Wizard, the story really moves following HER trials and errors. hmmm.. Great quoted article!

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I'm waiting for Peter Pan on audio, but it's not looking like I'll get it in time, so I guess I'll be stuck reading it.

My goal is to finish #23 today and go back to Category 13.

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) @Aeriell - You have Coraline or the Graveyard Book for task #36. I had thought of Coraline for the horror task, #58, but can think of a different one if you choose it for #36. No problem!

message 156: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments I have it on there because I don’t know which one I was thinking about reading for that since it would have to be from the library. If you already have it then go ahead a put it if you want. I was going to try to atleast finish one section myself lol.

message 157: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) In fact, I have The Forgotten Girl at home, I could use that.

message 158: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) @Debby - did you decide if you're doing BT#4? I only ask because I might start Wonderstruck tonight or tomorrow!

I'll read The Forgotten Girl instead, no problem. That way you don't have to search for another book for #36!

Go for it Kelly, There are plenty of others to work on. I am 1/2 through BT2.

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments For task number 8 I have a book I need to read and will read after The fire eternal, it has a MC named Arthur in it and was gonna use that for public figure if that is okay.

Oh for 97 I have an arc of that book, the new one with illustrations so can do that one unless who put that title there is wanting to do it now.

Aeriell, for #8 would Enola Holmes work with public figure Sherlock? I am already reading it for another #41, but it would be worth more in the BT group? only if it helps us all. 'An element of fun!'

message 163: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments #97 is a suggestion I put it in. Go ahead with your own book.

It would count since it has to share first or last name, it's up to you where you want to put it. The book that I have also has a teen protagonist so if we don't find another book I can fill in hat slot if need be.
This week I'm going to be catch up reading

I have two books that have the gold medal or gold ribbon printed on the front. #69 currently read for #BT8 and #11. There is Scholastic Gold (you can google it) Aeriell can you check to make sure they count?

Debby (da3witch) | 58 comments New question: Enola Holmes, the Black Barouche: by Nancy Springer: just realized I am reading this book #7... um, not yet on ARfinder. Can we find out if it counts?

I just went to go see and it comes up as service unavaliable. Though through google it says it is for middle grade readers but storygraph has it as YA.. I'm trying to see for ya, I asked Kadi since the States version is not working but the UK is.

message 170: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments We can use MG+ books, which are often technically YA.

message 171: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments So Kadi went to look it up but UK version is down/ not avaliable as well.. I was trying to see if it was labeled as either MG or MG+. Kadi says it is middle grade because she has read the books so yes it counts!

Yay! I'll finish the Enola Holmes #7 then. Thanks!

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I just finished my book for #61. There is a fortune teller but she doesn't really tell the protagonist her future. She just screams EVIL! EVIL! So does that not really count?

I don't know because in the task guidence tab all it says is:The future the fortune teller tells can end up being correct or incorrect; both counts.

Thanks! I decided against Wonderstruck even though it would've gotten us more points. I realized it's more of an illustrated story rather than mixed media. I've read some definitions of mixed media that do include art, but Kadi's guidance for the task makes me think Wonderstruck doesn't count after all.

So I found Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer which has letters, quizzes, to-do lists, etc. Seems to fit better. And that title!! ;-)

I'll leave it unless/until you hear otherwise. I have another book that will fit, but it's longer and time is getting short. The book I used would probably also work for #67 and #68 and as a horror genre.

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments I'm currently working away through two, I don't have anything till sunday, somy goal is to atleast try ot finish three more books for these tasks BT1,BT10,37,38,53,55.
Past that I don't know if I have anymore I can do/be able to
I also removed my name from two:
52-Because I don't think I fully have a book to fit that, I have one, I was thinking SharkWars book 1 because he just thinks hes a normal shark and he dosen't win any fights really till the end. If ya'll think it fits then let me know, its a short book
36-I have to go to the library for these so if someone can fill them faster then me go ahead.

I found figure it does since it matches last name the task guidence says:It can be a modern famous figure or an ancient one. They can share a first OR last name with the figure. They must be a significant famous figure, pulling out obscure politicians or random new-age streamer-type celebs does not count!

message 185: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I have a backup for #8 just in case. I'm going to tackle BT5 today, then focus on categories 5 and 13.

A friend gave me a suggestion for #82, but the library doesn't have that one. (Written in the spreadsheet.)

message 186: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) I'm working on BT4, and I found a book today for task #2 to finish up category 1. Finishing categories 9, 12, and 19 are a long shot for me, but I'm going to try to finish up at least one of them!!

We totally have a chance of winning this, you guys. (No, not competitive at all, not me! ;-)

I'll work on category 3, I have 2 done (#11, #14)and am on #13 now, my third book in this category. Ok with you Audrey?

I agree! I want to read all 100 ! Oh, to just sit under a tree with a slight breeze whispering, a cup of tea, or better yet, a tall glass of ice tea and a pile of good books!

message 192: by Debby (new)

Debby (da3witch) | 58 comments New question: for #15, Jake & the Gingerbread Wars , a Gryphon Chronicle by E. G. Foley, would fit as 'Santa' never reveals his true name. at least 3 others in this series if not more are listed on AR but this one is not listed. Can you check to see if I can use it?

Ohh, that sounds amazing. Yes, this has given us quite the TBR list!

message 196: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Hey guys,
I just finished category #1 and the extra points for me doing it myself haven't been added yet. Is that something that automatically is added, or does Kadi go in an add it herself? I didn't notice how that was done yet. Making sure we get all of our points due to us!!

message 197: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 463 comments I think it is all auto-calculated; Kadi programmed all the math.

The spreadsheet is filling up nicely!

message 198: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Audrey wrote: "I think it is all auto-calculated; Kadi programmed all the math.

Ok, thought so too, but it doesn't say "Cat comp by 1" as the others do and if my calculations were correct we should have 280 now, not 270?

message 199: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Nevermind, now we're at 292!!! I just hope my extra bonus 10 points were added in since it doesn't say "Cat comp by 1".

message 200: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) Upon looking closer at the numbers, I don't think it was because it only says that we've completed 2 categories by 1 person, but it should read 3 now.

Sorry about being nitpicky! Just want our efforts to count :-)
