Synopsis

(view spoiler)[1. What do you think of Jane's Mom marrying so many times? What do you think it did to Jane? I think Vivienne needed the attention from men and would marry anyone who gave her attention. She was spoiled. I think it made Jane more cautious (hide spoiler)]

I think her mom mistook attention for love and then when they lost interest she moved on to the next guy who gave her attention. She will keep looking because that isn't love and it will leave her wanting for more. I think it did a lot of harm to Jane with the revolving door of men. She couldn't rely on any of them because they would be gone before she got to trust any of them. It definitely taught her a lot about what she didn't want when it came to marriage and men.
2. Why do you think Michael had to leave Jane on her 9th birthday?
He was an imaginary friend and we all grow up and mature. She was about to enter those preteen years and should no longer need the guidance offered by an imaginary friend. Reminds of a movie I saw growing up about an imaginary friend. (hide spoiler)]

I can't believe how quickly I read the first 21 chapters. I really like that they are short.

(view spoiler)[ I think Jane's Mom needed someone to constantly give her attention, and when the attention started wane, she started looking for someone new. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Indeed this revolving boyfriends affected Jane, maybe that is why she needed the imaginary friend, someone that was hers alone, because neither her mother or her father gave her much attention. 9 years old is just on the cusp of adolescence and the need isn't so great. Finished the week 2 chapters. I'm really enjoying the story. I like Michael.

I felt horrible about Vivienne. Oh gosh. I loved the ending of this book and wish there was more books about them. I will be watching the movie later this week or weekend.

It was nice to revisit this book. I don't re-read books often because there are just so many out there that I want to read.
