Sandi | 51 comments What did you guys really think about this book? Everyone seemed to like it at the bookclub tonight but I found it hard to read. Really liked the topics and ideas but not his writing style. The shorter stories were okay but the longer ones just seemed to be rehashing the same points over and over again.

Carolyn F. I didn't read it. :(

Jennifer | 135 comments It was an okay read. There were some stories I really liked, such as the first one, but the others didn't wow me. While it didn't necessarily change my opinion on the book, I did gain a new appreciation for it in that people were expressing that there seemed to be a thematic thread for the stories taken as a whole. Not sure how true that is for *all* the stories as that would require a reread that I am not planning to do.

Jennifer | 135 comments This podcast with Ted Chiang talks about regular themes in his writing and discusses several of the stories that appear in Exhalation. https://speculativeliterature.org/sho...

Wendy | 28 comments I enjoyed the book. It sparked so many ideas, but sometimes things got so 'technical' it went over my head. And a couple dragged on. I couldn't get through his other book Stories of Your Life and Others.
