Kent (hyrulebalverine) | 317 comments I have my kindle linked with Goodreads. I bought and read "The Lone Ranger Rides" (published 1941) via Kindle but for some reason it doesn't show this version or even this book as being read on Goodreads. Instead, Goodreads shows "The Lone Ranger Rides North" (published 1946) as being read. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Amazon/Kindle side or if this is an issue with the Goodreads side.
Here is a link to the book that I bought/read: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...
Here is the book that Goodreads claims I've read: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Arenda | 26471 comments Librarians don't have insight in the Goodreads-Kindle connection, but the edition from the Amazon page was not yet on GR. I've added it: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...

Both titles are only combined with the same title editions:
https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...
https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

You'll have to manually mark it as read.

ETA: I think I found the issue, as one of the editions of The Lone Ranger Rides North was previously listed with the ASIN from your edition. So even though it was removed from that book, it seems to still be present somewhere.

Sandra | 31767 comments Amazon does own Goodreads, but there is no contact at the volunteer Librarian level.

I would assume you'd need to contact amazon.

David Raz (davidraz) | 13958 comments I'm not sure what help you are looking for. Mark the book which you read as "read" and remove the listing from the one you didn't read.

Librarians are not employees of Goodreads, but regular users with editing rights. We don't have insight into site functionality.

lethe | 16380 comments Thank you for quoting the dictionary at me.

I responded because I don't like you implying in the topic title that librarians refuse to help you.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Kent, what was it you didn't understand about David's post above?

Elizabeth (Alaska) But you edited the title of the thread as if librarians should be able to edit your shelves. I don’t know why you would want someone to add and delete books you’ve read, especially volunteers you don’t know.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Kent wrote: "I was told to contact Amazon because this was something that Goodreads can't fix. "

Or you didn't read all of Arenda's post. She added the book for you so that you could fix your shelves.

Elizabeth (Alaska) And, no, the librarian who said you should contact Amazon is not the same librarian who added/fixed your title.

You should edit the title of the thread. If you ever expect librarians to help you, you won't make a public display of disparaging the very volunteers who *could* help you.

Kent (hyrulebalverine) | 317 comments How is saying you cannot do something disparaging you? You've literally said you cannot do it!
